Andrea Silverstone is the Executive Director of Sagesse Domestic Violence Prevention Society, an organization committed to breaking the cycle of violence for individuals, organizations, and communities. She is a highly respected community partner and collaborative leader.
Andrea is a Registered Social Worker and Mediator with a background in Judaic/Talmudic Law, having attended Lindenbaum College in Jerusalem and York University in Toronto. Beginning her career in Calgary at the Awo Taan Native Women’s Shelter, Andrea later transitioned into her role as the Executive Director of Sagesse. Andrea’s achievements include the 2013 Association of Jewish Family and Child Agencies Goodman Award in recognition of her development and implementation of innovative programming that addresses bullying, violence, and domestic abuse in the Jewish community, the 2015 Alberta Inspiration Award for leadership in Family Violence Prevention and the 2015 RESOLVE Excellence in Community Service and Research Award in recognition of her distinguished contribution to creating homes and communities safe from interpersonal violence and abuse.
Andrea has implemented a collective impact initiative to address domestic and sexual violence province-wide, she has developed programming to address the systemic nature of domestic violence in under-studied communities such as women of affluence and strives daily to ensure individuals affected by abuse and gender inequality are made visible and know that they have an ally in her.

S2E6: STEAM Mentorship and Outreach Strategies with Cybermentor
Cybermentor (founded in 2001 – happy 20 years!) is an online mentorship and science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) outreach program for youth who face barriers to accessing STEAM education. The mentors—women, non-binary, and/or Indigenous professionals in diverse careers in STEAM—enjoy the experience of being a role model and motivating the next generation of STEAM professionals.
Co-coordinator Hannah Brunsdon has been with Cybermentor since 2019. She has a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies with a minor in Drama from UAlberta. Hannah is passionate about feminism, social justice education, mental health, arts-based community development, and creating safer communities. When she’s not working, you can find Hannah biking, doing arts and crafts projects with her family, or watching stand-up specials on all the streaming platforms!
Holliston (Holly) Logan is Cybermentor’s Indigenous Expansion Coordinator. Holly graduated from the University of Calgary with a BSc in Psychology. Holly joined the team in 2020 to focus on expanding the Cybermentor program to create a new mentorship and community engagement stream centred on Indigenous knowledge and people in STEAM. As a member of the Metis Nation of Alberta, Holly is passionate about working within her community and supporting Indigenous youth in pursuing their passions in a way that is meaningful and respectful to their own communities and cultures. When she is not working you can find Holly hanging out with her dog Beatrice, crocheting, listening to true crime podcasts, and hanging out in nature.

Steven Ngo is a Vancouver-based lawyer who specializes in business and technology. He serves on the board of various organizations that advocate for equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian Canadian legal professionals and the broader community. Steven is also a social entrepreneur and is the founder of Beyond the A, Living Room Series, and Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (Western).
Currently, he is working on making reporting anti-Asian hate crimes to the police more accessible.
