59m · Beyond the Stage with Jimmy K · 01 Jun 13:00

Sonic X is a modern rock band from Toronto that has been around for 18 years. Their compositions feature many memorable melodic passages backed by guitar riffs, lots of dynamics and great vocals.
Earlier this year, Sonic X released their latest album “All been said and done” and it’s a great collection of diverse songs that simply put “just get the job done and then some”.
Joseph Cumbo and Joey Greco are joining me for a great conversation about their history, the current and two future albums and some great stories along the way. We feature the video for “All Been Said And Done” at the end of the podcast.

Episode-10- Toney "Wild T" Springer

Toney Springer is "Wild T" - a Juno-nominated blues-rock guitarist and singer, songwriter and also a good friend. He has fronted Wild T and the Spirit since 1990. The band has released a number of hard hitting albums and is known for their live performances that are tough to follow for any other act.
Toney is also a great storyteller and he talks about and we share quite a few laughs about his musical upbringing in Trinidad (with stories to boot), his arrival in Toronto where a new musical world was waiting for him, his time playing and recording with David Bowie and his appearance as Jimi Hendrix in the Monkees movie.
We feature the song "I've Got The Rhythm" at the end of the podcast.

Episode-09- Birth Control

Birth Control is one of the longest-running German rock bands of all time.
50 years ago, they released the album Hoodoo Man which included the international mega-hit "Gamma Ray" that turned the band into household names throughout Europe.
While the personnel of the band has changed over it's 54-year history, one thing has not: solid musical performances in the studio and even more so on stage, where the band has delivered legendary performances for decades.
Just recently, the band released their 21st studio album "Open Up" with 8 brand new tracks that overflow with creativity, musicality, dynamics and of course, the pure dose of rock'n'roll the band is known for. And for the very first time, the band offers a new version of "Gamma Ray" 50 years after the original release.
I am joined by Peter Foeller and Ludi Ettrich and we talk about some of the history, their die-hard fans and the new album.
