Divorced Dads Story, Working with Mr Divorce Coach - Ep30

42m · Divorce Coaching Podcast · 13 Nov 15:00

Hey Listeners 👋,

It's been some time since we recorded and upload a new episode! Too long in fact.
You will also notice some changes, in that it's just Tom Nash - Mr Divorce Coach on episodes moving forward.

I recently spoke to a former client of mine, who spent the best part of 2023 working with me as their Divorce Coach, following an introduction from their Family Lawyer, who rightly recognised that whilst they know the law... I know the emotions and lived experience of Divorce/Separation, and that this chap needed some extra support in his life.

This wonderful chap wanted to share his story with the world, what he went through, what he felt he was up against, the angst of feeling "maligned" from his children. How he had very little in terms of a "support network" around him. This is a very touching acknowledgment of the ups and downs of our emotions, how we cope through divorce, and where the boundaries of different types of support are.

Thank you for sharing your story and for the deeply kind words in relation to working with me.

This episode also highlights the consideration and in most cases need to have a positive network and people in your corner. Who can help challenge your thinking when you are stuck in fight/flight mode. To educate yourself on the process but also what you can and cannot control. A space where you have someone in your corner who helps you unpack all those thoughts so you can piece together more congruent decisions that you can live with when the legal and formalities are all done. And as our guest says.. hopefully find a better version of yourself and not become bitter.

If you have a positive story you would like to share, I would love to hear from you and have you on the show. DM me and we can set it up.

As always, please do give us a like👍, comment⌨️ & a share📲 for others to find and watch this video.

Enjoy and thanks for listening.

Divorce Stories, a Dad's Experience - Ep29 The Divorce Coaching Podcast

Hey Listeners 👋,

We've had a lot of professionals on the show and those that seek to support a client in various ways through a divorce / separation. But I wanted to start bringing you some personal stories, from individuals (and hopefully some couples) about their own experiences of divorce, separation, co-parenting, the family courts and more.

20th June 2022 (day of posting) is "International Fathers' Mental Health Day"... Conveniently it's the day after Fathers Day (UK), so it seemed very apt to share a recording from a few weeks back with a former client, and dad who went through his own journey of C100's, CafCass and the family court system to access to and care for his young daughter... a daughter he didn't even know existed at the time of her birth!
Not until a friend showed him something on social media that his ex had posted!

In this episode we hear about Sam's story, his struggles both practically and emotionally. The impact on his daily life and the obstacles he came up against... More importantly we hear about his triumph and how this story, like so many that we don't hear about, has a happy, heart warming and loving end.

When we're going through something as challenging, emotionally & physically draining as a divorce/separation or child arrangement order proceedings, it can be very easy to latch on to the horror stories of others. The fears we already have. The negative experiences of others. BUT, there are so many positive stories out there that we never hear about or that don't have a light shone on them. My guest today wanted to share his story to let you know you are not alone. That there is a way through this and out the other side. That there is a real need to focus on self-development, self-reflection, what you can control, and how to manage and regulate your emotions at this time.

If you have a positive story you would like to share, I would love to hear from you and have you on the show. DM me and we can set it up.

THE Dating App for Divorced / Separated (Single!) Parents, PlayDate w/ Founder Nevine Coutry - Ep28 DCP

Hey Listeners 👋,

Welcome to the (sometimes scary) world of Dating After Divorce / Separation! In this episode of the DCP, Tom & Fay talk to Nevine Coutry, Founder & CEO of THE UK's Dating App for single parents, PlayDate

Nevine is a divorced single mum living in London, with the "single" world at her feet, you'd like to think a potential endless possibility of opportunities to date being in the big City would mean she'd have no problems finding a new person to share her life with... So did she, but alas the world of dating after divorce comes with a multitude of considerations, obstacles, new tech you've probably never used before, and even new dating etiquette for that matter!
Now throw in a divorce and a kid or two, and it becomes completely understandable why so many worry or stay away from dating altogether!

The canny thinker and innovator Nevine is, she decided to build the type of single / divorced parenting dating app she wanted but couldn't find 💭. Even in these very modern times, there were none focused on single/divorced parents when she started out! 🤯 I know right! Madness! Especially when there was already a dating app/site for almost every conceivable taste, interest, topic, kink, age, etc out there, Nevine couldn't find 1 single (no pun intended) app properly focused on the needs, hopes and uniqueness that is required for single / divorced parent dating... So she made one... PlayDate 🙌🎉🎊🥳

To find out more about the fantastic, simplistic and some might even have said obvious, yet frankly hadn't been done yet, Dating App,  have a listen to this.

Whether you are looking for 💖
Friendship 🤝
Someone to share an uninterrupted adult meal with 🍽️🍷 (without eating the leftover cold and soggy chicken nuggets that is!)

This App has everything a single / divorced parent needs... So much so they are even teamed up with Bubble, the UK's #1 babysitting & nanny booking app! So you can mingle and meet your new Mr/Ms/Nonbinary Right and get the sitter sorted all in one go 👌

As always, please do give us a like👍, comment⌨️ & a share📲 for others to find and watch this video.

If you have any questions or comments for Nevine, please do pop them in the comments box or DM Tom 📧

Enjoy and thanks for listening 🎧
