It Never Gets Easy #116

14m · The Tyren Johnson Show · 20 Nov 14:00

Something I've learned after 35 years. It never gets easy. Every time, I've felt I had it figured out. A new challenge appeared. I used to look at it like, why me? Why I can't never get over the hump. Then I sat back and thought about it. I have overachieved. Everything I said I wanted to do in life, I did it in my twenties. Never really appreciating all the hard work and dedication led me to believe life was against me. I've been winning the whole time.

No matter where you are, there will always be a challenge. That's exactly what you want. That keeps you young.

When you're young, you will have to prove yourself.

You must prove that you're worth it when you're in your prime.

You must prove that you're not old when you're a vet.

You're not a loser unless you quit.

What I Learned From Being On The Bench For Three Years In College

The transfer portal has changed the landscape of college sports. I love it, and I'm also worried. Everything has its pros and cons. As a player, I didn't have the freedom to transfer. I had to sit on the bench and hope an opportunity presented itself. In this video, I discussed the valuable lessons I learned from being on the bench for three years. Check out the video and let me know what you think. Do you think we're creating a generation of athletes who don't know how to fight through adversity? Or do you think if the situation ain't ideal, automatically leave?
