252 - Carry Your Own Burden

27m · Fathers Fire · 18 Jan 05:36

For the past couple of days I've been troubled by a post that I saw on Facebook that basically said "Carry Your Own Burden". When I think about the fact that 70% of all suicides are men I think there has to be a better way than "Carry Your Own Burden" or "Pull yourself up by the bootstraps". I explore some thoughts about creating an environment were we can support and love each other through our dark moments and be there for each other.

I'd love to hear your thoughts

Have a blessed day! And be the blessing that someone needs.

Cheers

263 - Sweetheart, what do you think if?

If your buddy calls and invites you to a last minute car show, fishing trip, business event you will move mountains, change schedules, to make it happen. But whens the last time you moved things to do get away with your wife or do something she likes? Maybe you were first dating and married you did, but somewhere we lost that interest and passion.

262 - Mother's Day Thoughts

I'm a little late on posting this week's podcast because rather than recording a podcast I was spending time with my beautiful wife on Mother's Day.

My wife loves barbecue so while I was barbecuing steaks, asparagus, and pineapple I had a moment to reflect on my mom, my wife, and the women who have impacted my life. Today I share some of those thoughts

Happy Mother's Day

261 - Being a dad of a competitive athlete

This I sit down with Alex Russell and explore what it takes to be a dad of a competitive athlete. We talk about the demands on you as a dad, figuring out how much to push them, and giving them the space to discover their own talents and commitment to the game.

260 - Super Papa!

I had the AMAZING opportunity to go down to El Salvador to be part of the 1st IDA Certified Detailer and Skills Validated training event with Jorge Rivera, Rigo Santana, Christian Ramos Pwee, Manuel Martinez, Steve Thompson, and Little Steve (The Detail Kid). I share some thoughts and observations about being a dad from my experience in El Salvador.

259 - Learning how to love, trust, and not become hardened

How do you work through betrayal and disappointment?

Today I share some thoughts on how to work through being disappointed and let down by others while not becoming hardened in our heart.

Thanks for joining me every week!
