Episode 153 Meet Your New Host; Eric Carter-Landin

After more than 150 episodes, original host Mike Morford steps aside from hosting the show, and introduces the new host- his friend, and past guest of the show; Eric Carter-Landin.

Eric is a past guest of the show. In episode 94, he spoke about the heartbreaking case of his little brother Jacob who was murdered in 1987, and whose killer has never faced justice. Since then, Eric has started his own podcast True Consequences, and has become a wonderful advocate for victims and their families. Eric is currently working on Advocacycon; a wonderful in person event that is a groundbreaking conference designed to bring together experts, non-profit organizations, families of the missing and murdered, and individuals passionate about advocating for justice. It aims to create a platform for education, connection, and collaboration in the fight for justice.

In this episode, Eric re-introduces himself and talks about his work, as well as his vision going forward with the show to help as many people as he can. Eric will take on hosting duties in the next episode- episode 154. We are excited to see what the future has in store with Eric behind the microphone.

A note from Mike Morford for long time listeners, and friends of the show:

Thank you for tuning in and supporting The Murder In The Family for the last several years, and for over 150 episodes. It's been my honor to have had guests on that have trusted me to share their stories with the world. I've tried to present these stories in a respectful manner, and to always provide a platform for family and survivors to talk about their loved ones. I can't think of a better person and advocate than Eric Carter-Landin, to move this show forward and help many more families along the way. Please support Eric the way that you have supported me over these first 150+ episodes.

Raymond Saenz

Episode 150 Raymond Saenz

On October 11, 2019, Raymond Saenz a 30 year old father of 3, went to a bar in San Bernardino, CA with a couple friends to have a couple drinks and some wings. While he was there, Raymond found himself cornered in a small bathroom with multiple members of a biker gang, and he wouldn't come out alive. Raymond was shot once in the face and left to die on the bathroom floor as the bikers fled the scene. Raymond's murder was shocking because he was well liked and got along with all kinds of people; in fact, surveillance footage from the bar showed Raymond being friendly with the bikers prior to being shot by them. That same surveillance footage may hold clues, that along with eye witness testimony, may help convict the men who have been arrested for Raymond's murder. The trial has been delayed in court for various reasons, and over four years later, Raymond's family is still waiting for justice. In this episode, Raymond's mom Mary discusses what is taking so long, and the challenges in getting justice for her son.
