In this episode of Ask The Color Expert, I’m chatting with Emily Pinegar about her passion for educating the next generation of stylists through apprenticeship.
Emily is the owner of Salon M + Suites, a female business owner with 32 years of hair designing experience, and has recently opened her salon this past March in Cedar Hills. She owns the salon, works as a hairstylist, and is also a hair educator, which makes her stand out. She offers an apprenticeship program where she teaches students one-on-one in an intimate setting so that they can skip the beauty school process and go straight to the salon floor after the apprenticeship with Emily.
Emily also offers five rentable suites within her salon for local businesses to operate out of. She is extremely passionate about her team, her local community, and the hair industry as a whole.
As a mom, entrepreneur, and lead stylist in the salon, Emily is always hustling and busy. She can speak to anything under the umbrella of motherhood, owning and starting a business, and beauty in the hair space!

Bobbi's accolades include Inland Empire Business Woman of the Year in 2007 and features in industry publications. She specializes in hair color and was instrumental in developing Eufora hair color and hybrid coloring techniques. Now based in Texas, Bobbi continues to excel in her craft, prioritizing her clients' and colleagues' success.

Mike, formerly of the prestigious Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles and Miami, embarked on his own path in 2013, establishing The Kingly Hair Group. Transitioning into a highly sought-after Independent Educator, he imparts his unique "Mastery of Haircutting" system at his Cutting Education House in La Jolla, Ca., and conducts In-Salon Seminars across the U.S. and internationally. In 2022, Mike launched The Kingly Hair Group Online Academy, a subscription-based platform delivering weekly seminars, fostering a vibrant online education community. Building on this success, in 2023 he introduced The Kingly Hair Group Apprentice Academy, offering aspiring hairdressers an alternative pathway to obtaining their California Cosmetology License through a comprehensive 2-year apprentice program.
