60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: Endless Possibilities for Your Origin Story - Let's Work Together

3m · Stories From Women Who Walk · 08 May 08:00

Hello to you listening in Snohomish, Washington!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds (and a bit more) for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.

What problems do I solve? I help women discover, shape and share their Origin Story - the story of how they got from There to Here - so they can connect with, engage, and inspire their audience to action.

Imagine the endless possibilities to inspire, influence, and persuade with your origin story: branding, marketing, public speaking, keynotes, presentations, podcast interviews, pitching your business or ideas to investors or prospects, and more!

When you showcase your origin story you reveal:

• Who you are; what you want people to know about the genuine you;

• What you stand for, your reasons for your goals and ideas; and,

• How your vision for what could be connects with the values of the people you’re speaking to.

How do I work with you? With personalized one-on-one consulting, self-guided learning, and production assistance I help you say what you mean and mean what you say so that you are seen, heard, understood, and listened to. For example:

"Perhaps you are a mid-career professional or business owner looking to build greater visibility and leadership. I help experienced women - like yourself - discover their Who as well as their Why, clarify their ideas, and amplify their messages in their own voice with the spirit of who they are."

"This might be the moment to recreate your business or personal narrative, to rediscover your talents and write your next chapter. Working together we’ll stimulate deep self-reflection and bold action so you confidently, deliberately become who you aspire to be."

"Picture your origin story shaping your marketing, your ideas transforming into powerful presentations, your voice resonating with conviction as you share your message. I'll help you manifest this vision."

60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey: What Is it About a Walk in the Woods and Belonging?

Hello to you listening in Muhos, Finland!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.

We’ve had days of continuous rain; but I’ve discovered an antidote to cabin fever: walking the deep woods on my island. In the forest I’m reminded of the reciprocity of the universe - the give and take between us and the highest of powers.

In her book Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering God Kaitlin B. Curtice asks: “What is it about a walk in the woods to remind us about the reciprocity of the universe? What do I mean? The bloodline of God is connected to everything . . . shells on the ocean shore, the mushrooms growing in the forest, the trees stretching to the clouds, the tiniest speck of snow in the winter, and our dust-to-dustness—we are all connected and tethered to this sacred gift of creation.” [Kaitlin B. Curtice, Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering God]

Question: How does it feel when you are deeply connected, when you know that where you are is where you belong?

60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: What Gives You Pause About the Passage of Time & Priorities?

Hello to you listening in Reykjavik, Iceland!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday with your host, Diane Wyzga.

Recently, a friend and colleague asked me if I might have “a balanced, introspective, and helpful word or two that would help us pause and think about the passage of time, priorities, where/who/what is the “center” around which life and time revolves.”

This is the way I would say it if I could say it this way:

In the richly imagined novel, Mink River by Brian Doyle a medal is being awarded to a small town cop who helped stop a terrible man from hurting others but suffered terrible injuries himself as a result. Listen to what is said on pages 309 and 310.

Thank you for your prompt, David Reynolds! Click HERE to access David’s book, Lead Learn Change, on Amazon.

Story Prompt: What would you like to say to “help us pause and think about the passage of time, priorities, where/who/what is the “center” around which life and time revolves"? Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something. All that matters is you have a story.

60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: How Will You Know the Stranger Who Was Yourself?

Hello to you listening in Flushing, Borough of Queens, New York!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Maybe like me you stop and wonder who you are, where is the girl (or fellow) who used to be you, whether you’re on the right track, and so on. It feels insecure, doesn’t it, not to have all the answers sometimes. Perhaps there is great wisdom in resting in that insecurity, stop resisting, stop pushing back, wait for the time (and the answer) that will come.

The poet, Derek Walcott might have been musing on these questions when he wrote Love After Love. He might have known his words would bring comfort, hope, anticipation, maybe even optimism. That’s what poets do.

Love After Love

The time will come

when, with elation

you will greet yourself arriving

at your own door, in your own mirror

and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.

You will love again the stranger who was your self.

Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart

to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored

for another, who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,

peel your own image from the mirror.

Sit. Feast on your life.” [- by Derek Walcott]
