The Emma Lynn Dowd Show - Commentary

1h 0m · The Emma Lynn Dowd Show · 15 May 20:48

On today's episode I dive into three different topics. We start the show with the sexualization and sexual assault on children on social media. How the internet and social media makes us easy targets of predators because of the ease of access and META and other platforms inability or willingness to stop it.
Then we discuss JK Rowlings, the author of Harry Potter. Because of her beliefs on transgenderism and her outspoken nature regardling it, she has faced a vicious backlash of hate and calls for harm against her because she doesn't believe the narrative that transwomen and transmen are now biologically the opposite sex. So are we not allowed to have an opinion and is it justified to say someone hates us because they disagree with our beliefs or goes against a narrative.
Finally I talk about Body Dysmorphia something I suffer with and how we talk about ourselves and the projection we cast into the universe impacts our self perception. So I talk about things I do to reverse this way of thinking.

The Emma Lynn Dowd Show - D. Dina Friedman & Perfectionism

On today's show I start the hour off with my implemenentation of subliminals and affirmations. Do they work? I am using this to try to get to Germany, so this may be an option one can use to try to reach their dreams. If you affirm it, you tell the world and yourself that you already have it so in theory it should come true. Then I play a Yodel from an amazing 14 year old Ukrainina girl that further affirms my desire to go to Germany.
After the break I talk with Author D. Dina Freidman. She struggled with perfectionism in her life and if she couldn't be perfect she sometimes got frustrated and gave up on it. When she had a chance to sit down and rationalize her situation in 2020 during COVID she found perfection wasn't necessary as it brought her joy. She wrote a book about it and is searching to have it published. She talks to us about her struggles with perfection and gives advice to those (LIKE ME) that struggle with this very thing.
Finally I close the show talking about how perfectionism impacted my life even to this day. How I dealt with it and things I think you can do to rationalize your thoughts by setting goals then reevaluate goals.

The Emma Lynn Dowd Show - Political Commentary

Today I talk about Title IX and the changes the Biden Administration made to the law and how it will potentially effect your family. You don't have to be LGBTQ to have this affect you.
Then I discuss the call for censorship and cancellation of Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker after his commencement speech at the Catholic College graduation.
Finally the Donald Trump criminal trial of using campaign hush money to silence Stormy Daniels comes to a close. In a bombshell confession star withness Michael Cohen (his disgraced X- lawyer and star witness for the prosecution admits on oath that he was the one that inflated the prices of Trumps properties to skim the extra for his own pockets and never paid Daniels hush money). Yet the charges were not dropped and the judge sends it to the jury with instructions not to listen to Michael Cohens testimony. This is clear tampering to find Trump guilty. Then I discuss how the DOJ and the Judicial branch is being used to weaponize against political opponents and what it can mean for us. Pelosi said nobody is above the law, except if you have a D behind your name.
