Ellen Osei is a Ghanaian-American occupational therapist, humanitarian and model. Ellen’s passion involves helping women and children navigate beyond physical and mental health challenges to reach their fullest potential. Ellen combines her experiences as a therapist, former beauty queen and pageant coordinator to present a mentorship program that helps women of all abilities and backgrounds redefine their beauty and serve in desired roles as leaders and entrepreneurs within their communities. This includes a variety of events throughout the year focusing on identifying and developing power, passion and purpose. Ellen also aims to help families create environments for children that enhance their overall quality of life. Ellen is the Co-Founder of Raising HOPE, a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to providing support resources for the disadvantaged, orphans, and children with special needs throughout the African Diaspora. Ellen is also the founder of Theraplay LLC, a pediatric occupational therapy practice that provides private and community-based workshops and services that support families in adapting their lifestyle to their child’s special needs. Ellen has a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University, NY, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Movement Science Program with a specialty in occupational therapy at Columbia University. Ellen currently works in New Jersey’s early intervention system and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. EP 04: Christine Dikongué "Integration instead of Inclusion"

On this episode, I will be chatting with Christine Dikongué; a Cameroonian-Canadian,  who was raised between three continents and in 6 different countries. Christine has experience in various disciplines (international economics, project management, marketing and technology). She draws on her personal experience and cross-cultural knowledge to raise awareness of issues related to access to quality education (SDG 4) and gender equality (SDG 5), while representing youth and marginalized communities. With her expertise in youth Mentoring , capacity building & strategic partnerships. Christine is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Nations Association in Canada ( Toronto Branch) and the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce. More recently, she was a youth ambassador for Barack Obama’s Canada2020 Conference. You can find her on the Most Influential People of African Descent ‘s Global Top 100 under 40, in recognition of the UN International Decade for People of African Decent and among the Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada. On this episode, I will be chatting with Aina Aidoo, Co-founder and CEO of Cupcakes Boutique Ghana. We will continue the discussion on relocating and starting a business in a new environment. We will have an in-depth conversation about steps you need to take to start a success and thrive in a countries you are not familiar with. She will also provide tips on how to choose the right business for the right environment and share some of her lessons she has learned on her entrepreneurial journey.       

Aina Aidoo is an entrepreneur from Toronto Canada. Aina was born in Ghana West Africa and migrated to Toronto Canada at the tender age of 4. She did all of her formal education in Canada and relocated to Ghana in 2009. After a short career in the banking industry, she ventured into various business in both Nigeria and Ghana. After helping establish Tempohousing Nigeria she decided to turn her passion for the culinary arts into a business. She attended The Bonnie Gordon College of confectionery Arts, and started The Cupcake Boutique along side 2 other business partners.
