10m · Alexander Maberry's Tales from the Tower · 07 Jan 07:00

Welcome to 2021!

Our first episode of the year is the spooky tale of Little Mary's Dolly.

This episode was written and produced by Elliot Randall Wood and is read by professional magician and voice over artist Jay Gatling.

Jay has been a magician specialising in wedding entertainment for close to a decade. But since the pandemic halted all live entertainment in the UK, he's turned his attention to using his voice to entertain. We're extremely excited to be one of the first to use these, until now hidden, talents, and urge you to take a look at his Facebook page at Facebook.com/jaygatlingvoiceover and if you'd like to find out more about what he does as a magician please visit his website gatlingmagic.co.uk.

You can visit the museum's website by going to maberrysmuseum.com where you'll find our blog and all previous podcast episodes.

Conwy's Little Mermaid - Read by Erwyd le Fol, the Conwy Jester

Long before Hans Christian Andersen put pen to paper to write his seminal work "The Little Mermaid" a little town on the North Wales coast was the scene of its very own mermaid tale.

The Conwy Mermaid is a 900-year-old legend that pre-dates the invasion of Wales by the English King, Edward 1st.

The best place to listen to this story is within The Jester's Tower, Conwy.
