Parrot Problem (B1)

Parrot Problem

Bird talks too much

A repair engineer called Frank once went to house to repair a dishwasher. The owner was out at work. She left a note with the house key. This gave instructions about her pets: a bull dog called Spike and a parrot called Cedric.

Hi Frank

Just to let you know about my animals. Spike looks scary but won’t bother you. But my parrot is very sensitive. It's very important that you don't speak to him.

Many thanks, Liz

Frank went into the house. In the kitchen Spike, the bulldog, lay quietly on the carpet. He opened one eye but then went back to sleep

You're Stupid!

The parrot, though, spent the whole morning annoying the workman. He started by squawking "What's your name, buddy?"

"Frank," said Frank before he remembered the note.

"You’re very ugly, Frank!" squawked the parrot. "And very stupid!"

Frank ignored this.

Then the parrot squawked, 'Your trousers are too tight, Frank. You need to lose some weight''.

Frank ignored this insult, too. Then the parrot squawked, 'You have a really big head, FrankYou sound like a crow, Frank!' he coul

Finally the repairman could take no more. ‘No, you’re very ugly,’ he shouted at the parrot. ‘And you’re very stupid!’

The parrot looked down at the dog. ‘Get him, Spike!’
