Les légumineuses sont importantes dans la rotation des cultures, car elles réduisent les mauvaises herbes et enrichissent le sol en s'associant aux bactéries fixatrices d'azote présentes dans le sol. Pour être sûr que votre sol contient les bonnes bactéries, vous pouvez acheter un inoculant de bactéries Rhizobium. Les bactéries Rhizobium peuvent survivre plusieurs années dans votre sol, il n'est donc pas nécessaire d'inoculer votre culture de légumineuses à chaque fois.
