"Life" - My Fourth Poem (7th July 2021)

5m · Dennis' Art Studio/Stories · 11 Jul 12:23

This poem is directly connected to the previous poem titled "death". This piece of writing attempts to connect death with life and life with death. To treat the two as interconnected and part of one. Quite often, Western culture in particular attempts to celebrate and venerate one above the other. Generally, treating death as an undesirable, albeit; taboo subject. By borrowing many similar sentences in the verses of the previous poem. I attempt to challenge this cultural bias by focusing on how life interconnects with death. In essence, exploring how the two are inseparable, and part of the same interconnected cycle. I hope this poem will challenge the biases of the listener.

Death: My Third Poem (11th July 2021)

The following poem was inspired by my subconscious and its reflections on duality. In particular, with reference to the occult, the five-sense reality and beyond, and the meaning of the black squares, and white squares. I call this poem "death" because it is my attempt to address such a difficult, taboo, and all too often, serious topic. Especially one that is often quite feared in Western societies. Yet, by being such a taboo topic. I attempt to bring to light one perspective on duality. With reverence, connecting death to life in a more holistic cycle.

My Second Poem: "The Elemental" (7th July 2021)

The following poem was yet another stream of consciousness style of writing. It recalls the experience of a man's encounter with an "elemental" or nature spirit. A commonly cited creature/archetype throughout many pagan mythologies and legends. This poem focuses mostly on the man's emotional state in relation to this mysterious encounter. I hope that you enjoy the following poem.

My Own Poem: "The Djiin" (6th July 2021)

The following poem was a stream of consciousness style of writing. It was inspired by Islamic theology and talks about the line between analogue senses and digital senses, the Djiin, and how the magi had opened the quantum abyss. The Djiin are renowned throughout Middle Eastern and Central Asian history. They are documented as supernatural beings made from fire and smoke. Otherwise known as "genies".
