43. Julie shares her incredible story of overcoming chronic fatigue syndrome, extreme mold illness, having to get rid of most of her possessions and how that led her to write a book about it.

Can you imagine your house making you sick? Or being so susceptible to something that merely being near it can paralyze you? Julie tells us all about how she realized she was chronically ill as a result of mold exposure, leading to her having to move out of her house and ultimately get rid of most of her things. This path of discovery, along with learning to manage her chronic fatigue syndrome, lead her to write a book to share her experience with others. 

Julie Rehmeyer is the author of Through the Shadowlands: A Science Writer's Odyssey into an Illness Science Doesn't Understand, about how she combined science and intuition to find her way through chronic fatigue syndrome and mold illness. She is an award-winning journalist and a contributing editor to Discover Magazine.
