Being Open About Sobriety (Guest: John Clint Mabry)

1h 8m · Drop the Needle · 23 Jul 04:00

This week's guest is actor/activist John Clint Mabry ("NCIS," "ER," "Superbad") who struggled with addiction, depression and PTSD for over a decade following a horrifying car accident that resulted in him losing a leg. Believe it or not, things got worse: he found his brother dead from an overdose in his Beverly Hills home and got fired from a high-profile job by personal finance guru Dave Ramsey. Mabry has emerged stronger than ever, becoming an award-winning speaker, inventor, athlete and ... well, the list goes on. In this episode, John shares songs about being open about sobriety, overcoming fear through public speaking, and being true to yourself. Artists include Linkin Park, Gang of Youths, Keala Settle, Joseph, Foo Fighters and Passenger.Artists include Linkin Park, Gang of Youths, Keala Settle, Joseph, Foo Fighters and Passenger.
