1. International Women's Day 2021

33m · 3markable · 01 Mar 08:33

Our first project together is celebrating International Women’s Day 2021. We have planned a week to celebrate and promote Women’s well-being, female support networks and mentoring and to raise awareness for workplace topics that are close to our heart, pregnancy loss and sexual harassment.

Our conversation today is about building your support network.

Lisa, Kate and Jo open up and give us an insight into how they met and what has come out of that connection. All three are involved in a weekly #IamRemarkable group where they celebrate successes with other wonderful women. During this conversation you will get to hear about:

  • Why it's important to have your own support network
  • How to start building up your own support network
  • Understand the different reasons why a support network can be a big part of personal growth
  • How remote networking is actually LESS scary than real life networking events
  • The benefits of having a safe place to share successes and feel encouraged

You will also come away with one action to go out and start building, continue building and re-evaluating what you need right now to keep you and your support needs met and successes celebrated.

2. Returning to Work as a Parent - with bump&glide

In this episode Lisa, Kate and Jo and their special guest, Serena Williams, talk about how businesses can better prepare themselves around the topic of parental leave and supporting their people returning to work after becoming a parent.

Serena set up bump&glide following 12 years in communication and HR based roles at LVMH in both London and Paris and the birth of her two children (18 months apart). She now provides much needed support to companies regarding their maternity policies, as well as pre and postnatal care to expectant and new parents. Serena has trained with Katharine Graves in London to become a KG Hypnobirthing Practitioner, and she is also a Mental Health First Aider with MHFA England. In 2020 Serena completed the Younique Baby & Postnatal planning workshop and went on to win the LUX Life magazine award for 'Best Pre & Postnatal Support Service 2020 - Hampshire’.

Listen as Serena and the founders of 3markable share their own personal stories of returning to work after becoming a parent before embarking on a rich conversation focused on the important - but often overlooked - topic of how this should be carefully considered by employers.

In this episode you will

- hear about the importance of having a dedicated person to support individuals through a life-changing event

- how a return to work isn't only about a birth mother

- normalising shared parental leave

- what support looks like to combat the often bumpy return for both the employee and the employer

The 3markable collective and their special guest leave you with some top tips to embark on a return to work that is encouraging, achievable and tailored to promote a healthy, adaptable and confident re-boarding back to work for any parent, whatever their gender.
