In celebration of Earth Day this month, we spoke with our dear friend and fellow climate change activist Quinn Antus about how creatives can engage in the fight for a more sustainable future. Quinn is the co-founder and executive director of Signal Tech Coalition, a non-profit organization working with tech leaders in Colorado to implement economic climate policies. She shared some incredibly inspiring thoughts about how storytellers can positively communicate about climate change as well as practical ways that filmmakers can incorporate more eco-friendly practices on set. Tracy Sayre is an award-winning screenwriter and founder of Writers Work. Her short film “Lily + Mara” recently premiered on PBS. She is currently developing 3feature scriptsand serves on the grant board of QCA and is an animal rights activist. Tracy received a BFA and MAT from Maryland Institute College of Art.

Rodman Jenkins about cultural humility and the important role it plays in creating a more empathetic and honest experience in the creative arts.Venida is the Director of the Speicher-Rubin Women’s Center for Equity and Diversity at New Jersey City University. She also teaches a “Race, Gender, and the Media” course at Newhouse NYC at Syracuse University and is the founder and pastor of EMBRACE Church. As a minister, educator, and advocate for many years, she is committed to creating affirming and brave spaces for those who have been oppressed. Her desire is to persist until all people are seen, heard and free.
