Episode 013: The Caitlyn Jenner Redux: ESPYs Edition

1h 36m · So There's That Podcast · 22 Jul 02:27

It's the return of Caitlyn Jenner as DiG and Dante discuss her speech on the ESPYs, and the rampant disrespect displayed towards her by Bob Costas, Peter Berg, D.L. Hughley and Howard Eskin. As you can imagine, DiG goes on a bit of rant, juxtaposing how welcoming (for the most part) NYC has been to DiG and Dante. Other topics include Godwin's Law, the Prime Meridian, Shawn Wallace (sic) and exploding ducks. Note: When I began transitioning in 2014, I was known by my nickname DiG, which sufficed until I learned my mom had chosen Jennifer had my birth gone differently. So for historical sake, I leave the podcasts as originally conceived, but know that my name is and apparently always was Jen.

Episode 021: Protagonists in Our Own Lives

DiG welcomes an old friend, Anna, to the festivities, leading to a wonderful conversation about how we perceive ourselves and how we are perceived by others. Topics include DiG's previous life as "a guy," Anna's white noise tattoo, and DiG's infamous "Beautiful Mind" wall.  We also get several visits from Shadow and plumb the secrets of women's bathrooms, including the concept of "hovering." Episode 020: Still Alive aka Impossible Girl, One Year Later

DiG returns with an update on her "impossible life" in New York City, one year after going public with her transition. A new drivers license, new confidence, old friends, and how to handle questions from relative strangers about her genitalia.  Note: When I began transitioning in 2014, I was known by my nickname DiG, which sufficed until I learned my mom had chosen Jennifer had my birth gone differently. Episode 019: An Old Life Ended…

The old house empty. Both kids at college. The cat, well, she's still trying to find the missing door that leads to our old backyard in our new 10th floor New York City apartment. So join DiG, sans Dante, for an emotional farewell to a life well-lived in Maryland, and a hint at things to come in the Big Apple. Note: When I began transitioning in 2014, I was known by my nickname DiG, which sufficed until I learned my mom had chosen Jennifer had my birth gone differently. So for historical sake, I leave the podcasts as originally conceived, but know that my name is and apparently always was Jen.

Episode 018: Farewell to Dante

In another sleep-deprived episode, DiG finally moves to NYC and bids a very emotional farewell to Dante. Along the way we encounter tangents (and rants) about the frustratingly challenging move, an equally frustrating drive through New Jersey, and fond reminiscings of Doctor Who and Cardiff. Note: When I began transitioning in 2014, I was known by my nickname DiG, which sufficed until I learned my mom had chosen Jennifer had my birth gone differently. So for historical sake, I leave the podcasts as originally conceived, but know that my name is and apparently always was Jen.

Episode 017: Am I Still Allowed to Do That?

DiG gets a little loopy as this episode gets recorded early morning, only three cups of coffee into her day. Memories of the soon-to-be-vacated townhouse dominate the topic du jour, with side conversations about jars of moles, appropriate hand gestures for woman, stomping down steps, and other womanly experiences. Note: When I began transitioning in 2014, I was known by my nickname DiG, which sufficed until I learned my mom had chosen Jennifer had my birth gone differently. So for historical sake, I leave the podcasts as originally conceived, but know that my name is and apparently always was Jen.
