Safejas

54m · Published 11 Nov 08:15

We're back with another episode and a new guest!

This week our guest is the lovely Safejas aka Lewis.

Fresh off the back of a recent EP release, Safejas is a Berlin-based producer, working in the fractured seams of electronic music, producing sounds which feel both alien and familiar. Moving fluidly between the more exploratory fringes of club music and expansive ambient soundscapes (and readily exploring the space between them), Lewis's music breathes with curiosity and fractious detail.

Before moving into production, Safejas played bass and added electronics to various bands such as Good Guy Clarence in Brighton, before also co-founding the live film scoring and audiovisual event Luma on the South coast.

Lewis has just released an 4 piece EP called Silk, available on Bandcamp.

This week we reflect on Lewis' journey to making music - how he learnt production- plus we talk about our predictions for the future of music and genre’s in a post lockdown world.

Welcome back to another episode of On Repeat.

This week we’re speaking to singer-songwriter, Brooke Bentham.

Originally from South Shields, and now in London, her music has been described as 'austerely beautiful' and she's been deemed ‘one to watch' by The Guardian, plus featured in places such as Line Of Best Fit, London in Stereo and The Times.

Her latest album, Everyday Nothing, was nominated for best independent album at theAIM Awards and lies between rock and folk. In this episode, Brooke tells us about the highs and lows of being a breakout artist - but it’s not all doom and gloom! We also speak about being part of people's formative years, a day in the life of her songwriting and who is Oliver?!p.s. This one's for Adam Buxton.
