Moviegoing at the time of Corona

34m · Published 14 Nov 13:00

It's a special 3WCC x Pervision crossover! John Tawasil, the co-host of the Filipino film podcast, Third World Cinema Club, joins Armand and Tristan to chat about what moviegoing might look like in what appears to be the tail-end of COVID-19.

About our Guests

John Tawasil is from the film podcast, Third World Cinema Club, a show he-costs with our friends at Film Police Reviews. He also runs the film blog, Present Confusion. Tristan Zinampan is Rappler's resident film geek. He heads the brand integration, of which — fun fact! — I'm also a part. Translation: he's my boss.

About today's show

Per the IATF, Filipino moviegoers are finally allowed to watch movies in theaters again. That, however, is only true for you provided that you follow safety guidelines and have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

All three of us have reservations, especially with how the theater owners will implement and enforce the new safety guidelines.

Trese ft. Tristan & Emil

1h 0m · Published 18 Jun 15:57

YAY FOR A BRAND-NEW PERVISION 📢

Episode 14! Tristan, Emil, and Armand talk Trese, Netflix's first Filipino-language anime. Based on the same-name comic series from Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, the new series follows a police consultant with an unusual ability to uncover supernatural crimes.

Amidst debates over accents and casting choices, today's episode forgoes equally important questions about Choc-Nuts and easily the series' yummiest snacks (Crispin and Basilio, duh!) to highlight the fact that Trese is living in a world where the po-po aren't on a routine schedule of getting high on power and inadvertently killing civilians.
