Episode 32 Dennis Dunbar Digital Artist and World Class Retoucher

1h 35m · Published 16 Oct 16:26

Episode 32 Dennis Dunbar

Digital Artist and World Class Retoucher

Welcome to Episode 32,

Today Jake and I are talking with the amazing Digital Artist and world class retoucher Dennis Dunbar.

Since the 1990’s Dennis has been adding his Photoshop magic to Movie posters and Ad Campaigns for companies all over the world. His work covers the Automotive, Product, Beauty,  Commercial, Fashion and of course the movie industry, where he's worked on movie posters for films like Jumanji, Deadpool2, Creed II, I am Legend, Harry Potter and many more… He’s certainly a master with his own magic wand or more like his pen and tablet..

Dennis is a master of colour, knows his way around curves layers and educates both Jake and me on using Colour layers and luminosity layers.

Do we need as many megapixels as modern cameras can give us now, listen to what Dennis has to say on that…

As photographers, we like to get it right in camera, but Dennis shares some interesting facts and stories of why it’s not always possible and what they have to do to remedy the inevitable. In a creative way of course!

Another great episode into the world of retouching, colour control layers and a little insight into what it takes to create Front covers for Films in the movie industry.

Don’t gorget the 10 question ‘Rapid fire not so rapid fire’ round in the middle of the show.. Always a fun few minutes…

Episode 29 Neale James Documentary Wedding Photographer

1h 18m · Published 01 Jul 05:00

Episode 29 Neale James Documentary Wedding Photographer

Welcome to Episode 29 where we speak with the super talented smooth talking Documentary Wedding Photographer who's shot nearly 900 weddings so far! Neale is also film maker, voice over artist and Podcasting demon Neale James.

Neale originally came from the glorious world of Radio, where he and his smooth mellow voice graced the airwaves of Radio 1 for many years.

We have to say Neale is one talented and very busy man, he’s a busy documentary wedding photographer, a voice over artist, and he also runs 2 podcasts. One of which many of you will know as the Fujicast, which he hosts with his fellow partner in crime, and Fujifilm X Photographer Kevin Mullins.

On top of that still manages to host a daily podcast called ‘Photography Daily Podcast’ and even edits podcast shows for others.

We don’t know how he does it!

There’s no way we can cover all of Neale’s exploits in one podcast, so in this episode we try to understand a little about Neale and his work as a Documentary wedding Photographer.

We get the low down on how many weddings he photographs, how he does it, why he does it, and persuade him to share some of his methods and secrets, of his business and shooting techniques.

Of course we cover what kit he’s using for all his work, and also explore his ‘Photofilm’ product which he put together many years ago, and find out why it’s such a success!

Don’t forget, we have our fun mid show ‘Rapid Fire Round’, where we put Neale on the spot for a quick fire 10 questions, that may not always relate to photography and can also have some very bizarre answers..

Episode 26 COVID-19 Stay Creative and Create at Home

1h 12m · Published 14 Apr 07:15

Episode 26 COVID-19 Stay Creative and Create at Home

First off, we want to say among all the chaos we are all enduring at the moment with this terrible global pandemic, we hope everyone is staying safe and well.

Our thoughts and well wishes also go out to all those directly affected by the COVID-19 virus.

In this episode, Wayne & Jake we briefly touch on the impact Covid-19 has had on all of us, and how its affected our business as Photographers and creatives.

In these current times of ‘lock down’ where most of us are in the ‘Stay at Home’ situation how do we stay creative and what can we do from home to remain creative as well as to help us keep a healthy mind. We know as creatives we get quite twitchy when we can’t get our creative jig on.

Join us as we discuss some of the things we’ve been doing to keep our creative minds occupied, turning our ‘should do’s’ into ‘have done’s’ and our ‘I want to do’s’ into ‘I’m doing them’.

We talk some about some serious stuff, some business stuff and some fun stuff too….

I think we all need to do something to make us laugh during these times, and we all know laughter can certainly help lift the mood….

Have fun with this one and remember, STAY IN AND STAY SAFE! - Our thoughts go out to everyone and thanks for being staying tuned in to our podcast.
