I am BACK! After a whole year off I am back for episode 50. I could not be happier.  Thank you all for the support and patience.  I have wanted things to be in line to make this special.  Moving forward we are going to start to have visuals and much more production to add, but we need to just get the ball rolling.  Today I read the classic "Hansel & Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm. Published in 1812 and with deeper roots and origins this tale is ALL over the place. A kid eating witch, a dad that can't stand up for himself, and two wyly kids who kill a kid eating witch. It is packed with lessons. :|

Today we read about the story Leo Sharp, or "Tata" as known to the Sinaloa drug cartel. He was an avid Day-Lily  hybridizer, which shocked me at first.  I came to realize that he was fatally pressured into the actions that he carried out. He also, enjoyed to some degree the luxuries that came with being a mule for "El Chapo". Being caught in 2011 Leo had already pedaled over 1000 Kilos of Cocaine. This is a story of a man that with a gun to his head and his family on his mind chose to drive....just drive...

Did you miss me?  What a way to dive back into your favorite storyteling podcast than to finally start to read some Bible Stories. Initially, I had pulled non King James versions for an easier interpretation. But, Adam and Mike insisted that we read from the good ol' 1611 publication of the King James version. I have not read the bible front to back. These two have a better understanding of some of the messages that are portrayed through what I preceive as tall tales meant to teach. I just find it more extreme than not with these damn stories. Someone is killing someone, about to kill someone, already killed someone, or crazy tales of sex, to prove teaching points of obedience, good nature, or just plain shake your head moments. I get so giddy on Friday's, and this one is no different.  First I have to say that you can download this book for free below! IT has over 50 short stories from 5 different countries. Seriously a gem that I stumbled upon.  Joe Van Loon is an author with special needs and admittedly has Bi-Polar disorder. Which does not at all detract from the stories but add to them.  "The Corpse that went boating" has a twist at the end which pauses you to rewind the episode to see if you caught what the author was trying to accomplish. I know I did! :)

The "Scary Stories" collection by Alvin Schwartz were my favorites as a kid.  My cousins and I had to ask our parents to buy us new books because we used them so much that the pages would fall out. I fell upon my recent set of these books at a second hand store, randomly I might add, but certainly a treasure!  Now that I am done gushing about the book let's chat about the story I read. "Harold", is a scarerow that happens to not take a liking to be picked on. Two brothers create a scarecrow that is a replica of someone they are not too fond of to put it lightly. What happens after, creates quite the storm for the tow brothers and not much farming getting done.
