Edward Short, founder of The Possibility Pod, is an independent business consultant, former business and army leader, mentor, and co-founder of vLancer, shares his story of how not wanting to work in the city led him to his commission in Sandhurst, before moving into the corporate world, then as an independent consultant.

Ed isn't an introvert or quiet leader but he has vast experience in building communities and leading diverse teams. We talk about listening, holding silence, when to ask questions, psychological safety, and how sharing our own stories makes it a two-way dialogue.

We also share deeply personal stories including how the struggles and the suicide of Ed's friends caused him to rethink his career and the vLancer app was created. This episode was close to my heart, and depicts everything to why founders and entrepreneurs do what they do.

Neil Almond has spent over 25 years in the beverage and food industry. Much of his career has been in protecting brands and securing the integrity of supply chains. Whilst studying Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham, he spent some time being a DJ for the student radio station.
