Marketing is often misconstrued as promoting a brand, especially among the startup community. If you think marketing is all about spending money around a brand story, then we have much to discuss. This episode was recorded during Covid and we spoke essentially about talent being the real asset of any company to tide over tough times. To see people as essential to business, as assets & not as variables. There are too many examples of retrenchment especially during balance sheet announcement or any sign of rough weather. That shows business are not being built for the long term & is definitely not great for brand love & trust. He pointed out that the talent in your team are the true asset of the company.
