PURPOSE DRIVEN ACTION

20m · Published 03 Jan 05:57

Episode 10: Purpose Driven Action

In this episode:

  • Why setting goals is always an opportunity to grow
  • Stop picking goals based on what you think you “should” do
  • Digging deeper into your real WHY
  • How to stay the course
  • Proactive vs reactive

It’s a brand new year and I hope you are PUMPED. If you’ve got that little voice in your head, that’s got all of these crazy dreams that make you kind of want to pee your pants, I hope you let yourself GO THERE. And you set a GOAL around it. And then? You take some PURPOSE DRIVEN ACTION.

Purpose: A clear WHY. Why are you setting the goal? Why does it matter to you?

Driven: How do I STAY driven? Being proactive vs reactive.

Action: How do I make SURE that I will take action? Block off time & get accountability!

Quotes:

“When we’re in this state of inaction, or analysis paralysis, we start to create this story of all the reasons we can’t do something.”

“Staying comfortable is actually uncomfortable when you know in your gut that you have purpose & passion.”

“When you are setting goals, you are not going to hit some. But you’re gonna be a hell of a lot closer towards reaching it, if you actually set it.”

“Motivation is fleeting & a lot of times we’re not gonna feel like it. But if we’ve got purpose, and we’re creating the infrastructure in our life to keep us driven and keep us as happy as we can, we’re more likely to stay the course.”

“How’s it gonna feel? How can I have some more fun? How can I build a life that’s proactive versus reactive? Where I’m just soaking the juiciness out of our one shot on this planet?”

Let's talk about BURNOUT: Four ways to AVOID it or REBOUND from it.

24m · Published 20 Dec 06:19

Episode 8: Burnout

In this episode:

  • What is burnout & why do we experience it?
  • Setting boundaries for yourself & others
  • Turning off notifications & being PRESENT
  • Putting yourself at the TOP of your priority list
  • 4 action steps for AVOIDING or REBOUNDING from burnout

In today’s episode we are talking about burnout – why does it happen, how do we deal with it & what to do to bounce back from it. Burnout is a REAL thing that we experience in our society on a regular basis. But, what if you had a GAME-PLAN and solid ACTION STEPS to REBOUND from burnout? OR, what if you could AVOID it all together? Your life is worth MORE than being a slave to your emails, or notifications, or other people’s expectations. Take these tips & implement them into your daily life, then let me know how they help you!

#1. Intentionally pick your season & what you are focusing on

#2. Set your boundaries

#3. Take inventory of your communication channels

#4. Make YOU a priority but drop the BS story

“I believe, to my absolute core, that the future version of you is gonna thank you. She's gonna thank you SO much and say thank you for GROWING through this tough time, thank you for learning what you learned. This is serving you & others.”

Quotes:

“We have been sold the idea that there is this balance, that’s actually attainable. And so many of us feel unfulfilled because we feel like we’re failing, because we are striving for something that doesn’t even exist.”

“What boundaries do I first need to put in place to protect myself and my energy so I don’t repeat this cycle again?”

“You don’t have to be available just because someone else wants you to be.”

“The people who do the if/only game, they not only suck the life out of themselves, but they don’t see as much success in their business or in their life, and they don’t feel fulfilled because they’re coming from a place of lack & they’re playing the comparison game.”

Interview with Natalie Rogers on Navigating FEAR, Imposter Syndrome and Taking ACTION to build a brand you LOVE.

40m · Published 17 Dec 05:07

Episode 7: Natalie Rogers

In this episode:

  • Starting a new business & building a brand
  • Using your resources to get started right away
  • Action eliminates fear
  • Morning routines that improve productivity
  • Living a life that makes you truly HAPPY

Natalie Rogers is a 24 year-old entrepreneur from Orlando, FL. She started her first company at 18 years old as a senior in high school and has been in love with entrepreneurship ever since. Natalie is most-known for being the CEO of The Klassy Network, a brand empowering female entrepreneurs to keep going with stylish products (anti-blue light glasses and apparel) and building a network of like-minded women. Her company launched in May 2018 and the brand is on track to hit 6 figures in its first six months. Natalie attributes a lot of her success to selling on Instagram. She doesn't only enjoy building an empire of her own, but she also has a passion for helping others launch and scale their businesses on social media.

In today’s episode we get to hear from Natalie about how simply taking ACTION towards creating a product that she wanted, launched a massively successful business. She shares with us her backstory & how she has created a brand and NETWORK for empowering women. At just 24 years old, Natalie is PROOF that taking MESSY action, before you know what you’re doing, is ALWAYS better than choosing to take no action at all.

“You create your own reality. And to remember that it’s on you. This is your life and you can do whatever it is that you want.”

PUMP UP Song:

  • Forever by Chris Brown
  • I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas

Quotes:

“Be honest & transparent… just let go of control & when it happens, it’s all going to happen the way it NEEDS to.”

“It’s just about taking action, & realizing that there are people out there that are way less credible than you & they are doing so well just because they decided to do it.”

“We are our worst critic. Just step into that person that wants to do it & step into your confidence. Take action and jump, amazing things will happen, you just have to kind of let go.”

“You deserve to be happy in life, and there’s so many people out there that are living a life that they’re not enjoying, they’re miserable just because it’s safe.”

“Take the risk & understand that this is your LIFE, and it’s short, and you deserve to be happy.”

“Put your blinders on, take action, because action eliminates the fear.”

“If you’re not happy, then you’re not living.”

NAVIGATING negativity & controlling what you CAN

25m · Published 13 Dec 04:35

Episode 6: NAVIGATING negativity & controlling what you CAN

In this episode:

  • You can only control yourself
  • Handling negativity from people around you
  • Some people won’t support you & that’s ok
  • Giving others the benefit of the doubt
  • Not having it all figured out
  • Creating space when needed

On today’s episode, we are getting REAL & chatting about handling friends or family who just might not get it or support you in a way that you wish they did. Everyone struggles with navigating relationships & dealing with what other people think. The people who THINK differently might act like what you are doing is “WRONG,” or question your motives. What I think is the absolute WORST? Is that because of their questions or comments you actually QUESTION your own MOTIVES & CHOOSE TO THROW THE TOWEL in on YOUR DREAMS because someone ELSE is CHIRPING IN YOUR EAR. & to be honest, that’s devastating to me. So, here are 3 things I do to help NAVIGATE it:

#1: CHECK IN IF YOU are CONTROLLING THE CONTROLLABLES

#2: ARE YOU WILLING TO ENTERTAIN the idea that it’s NOT ABOUT YOU?

#3: BLESS & RELEASE OR create some SPACE.

“Life is short and often throws curveballs. So, I’m gonna make the hell out of everything I’ve got, every single day, and I hope you do too.”

Quotes:

“If you are BREATHING, or doing anything different from what other people around you are doing, you are going to experience resistance from time to time.”

“Are you owning the situation & realizing that the only part that you can control, ALWAYS no matter what, is yourself.”

“Every time I wanna point the finger at someone else, I turn that finger around, I point it back at myself & I say what can I control? What can I own in this?”

“Happiness is a real compass. So if it feels good to you & something in your gut is telling you to do this? You’ve gotta do this, you’ve gotta listen to yourself.”

“Girl, don’t you DARE hold back on your potential because of someone else’s opinion of you.”

“The people that we surround ourselves with, the people whose ideas we infuse into our brains, whose comments we hear on a regular basis, that’s part of who we become. So choose well.”

005: Adriana Carrig Interview on CHARTING your OWN PATH + SPREADING KINDNESS

47m · Published 10 Dec 03:59

In this episode:

  • Staying optimistic through the hard stuff
  • Deciding not to care what others think
  • Where were you, where are you, & where do you want to be?
  • Being resourceful - figure it out!
  • Be kind & pass it on

Adriana Carrig is a powerhouse entrepreneur who is trying to change the world one word at a time. Inspired by her own experiences growing up and enduring years of girl on girl bullying, she wanted to change what she saw as a negative bonding tool that many girls have the tendency to use - coming together by putting down others. As the founder of Little Words Project, her mission is to encourage women to respect and empower one another rather than to compete with one another. It is her firm belief that there is plenty of success to go around, and we can truly succeed if and when we learn to stop competing and start supporting.

I’m so excited to share today’s episode with you all, where we have a truly honest discussion & Adriana opens up about her experience & how she took the noise around her and decided to instead turn it into something impactful. She shares with us how she didn’t let her lack of knowledge or expertise stop her from starting something she was excited about, but instead it encouraged her to embrace those around her, BELIEVE that she could and just go for it.

“If we can all kind of remind ourselves of those moments of just feeling like possibility is out there, and that we have an option. We always have an option & a choice, no matter where you are in life, there is somewhere, in a fold, an option.”

PUMP-UP SONG:

  • Cough Syrup by Young the Giant

Quotes:

“You cannot change what people think of you, you cannot change how people are going to perceive you through their lenses. All you can do is be confident in how you view yourself, put that woman out there & not give a shit anymore about what other people think.”

“You have to just actively decide no, not today. Today I am gonna be myself & I’m not gonna care.”

“The first one through the wall is always the bloodiest.” – Bill Carrig

“If you want it, you CAN achieve it.” – Adrianna’s mom

“You are the architect of your own destiny.”

“You cannot compare yourself to the left or the right, you can only compare yourself forward & backwards.”

“It’s okay to keep learning & to be different.”

“When you build your own self-esteem, suddenly you’re building your own confidence. And when you have confidence, you’re going after your dreams.”

“Do whatever you would do to make sure that you stay proud of yourself when this is all said and done, and that really gonna be the thing that makes you take that next step.”

“Stop questioning it. Stop worrying, stop thinking & just do.”

Interview with DAVE HOLLIS on GROWTH, tapping into your POTENTIAL & getting outside your COMFORT ZONE

50m · Published 03 Dec 00:37

Episode 3: Interview w/ Dave Hollis

In this episode we talk about:

  • How being challenged caters to growth & fulfillment
  • Getting out of your comfort zone
  • The importance of who & what you surround yourself
  • Using the resources available to you to get where you want to be
  • Having a growth mindset vs a fixed mindset

About Dave:

Dave Hollis is husband to Rachel, father to Jackson, Sawyer, Ford and Noah and the CEO of the Hollis Company after a 17 year run at Disney left his role as President, Theatrical Distribution for The Walt Disney Studios.  Dave looks to take the experiences as global theatrical sales head for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucas film to the expansion plans in the next, exciting phase of Hollis Company — focusing on media (books/podcasts/radio/tv), live events and merchandise.

In today’s episode I got to sit and talk with Dave about his transition out of a long-term job with Disney and jumping into the unknown as the CEO of the Hollis Company. Dave opens up about the reasons behind his transition, the fears that he experienced & how they made it work for their family. He has had a huge role in advocating for women in business by helping them reach their highest potential and encouraging growth. When he got to a place where he knew he wasn’t using his full potential, and therefor was no longer GROWING, Dave knew it was time to tackle something challenging and in doing so, found total life fulfillment.

“Whatever the dream is, it’s yours, not mine. You don’t have to give any justification, because as long as you’re not asking anyone to give you approval, then you don’t need anyone to give you permission. In fact, when you understand that you don’t have to justify your dreams, to anyone else for any reason, that is the day you truly begin to step in to who you were meant to be.” - Rachel Hollis - Girl, Stop Apologizing

PUMP UP SONG:

  • Apeshit by The Carters

Quotes:

“Your comfort zone, that’s not where growth happens. Growth happens OUTSIDE of your comfort zone.”

“We thought we had a strong marriage, but when you are clutching each other in the bottom of a ravine, that’s when you see how strong you can be.”

“You’re either growing or dying. You cannot just maintain a status quo. You are literally, as a being, either growing or dying.”

“You cannot grow if you are not being challenged with new things. And if you are not growing because of those challenges, you cannot be fulfilled.”

“Mediocre people will always pull achievers back to mediocre.”

“She kept doing it, because she didn’t need my permission to become a better version of herself.”

5 ACTION STEPS TO GET "UNSTUCK"

23m · Published 29 Nov 04:35

In this episode we talk about ALL THE THINGS!

·         WHY...you've got to get over the idea that something is "wrong"  with you

·         We talk about figuring out what your “thing” is

·         That weird feeling we get.... when we want a GREAT life

·         Finding the belief in yourself; trusting that everything is figureoutable

·         Filling your cup to OVERFLOW

·         The importance of having a TRIBE

·        &  5 actionable steps to get unstuck

“Saying that you don’t know how to do something, and choosing to stay ignorant about it, is legit a CHOICE.”

In today’s episode, I dive into the whole reason I am even here today. Because years ago, I had no clue what my “thing” was, but I knew I wanted more and I took ACTION to figure it out. Inaction is still a choice & CHOOSING to believe we can’t do something is destroying our possibility. We create a story in our head of all the reasons we think we’re not qualified, or not good enough. We tell ourselves we can’t do something, all the while just sitting there not even TRYING. While you can’t control what you don’t know, you CAN continue to keep learning.

Behind every perfect Instagram picture is a real human who struggles with doubt, fear & insecurity just like we all do. They are simply willing to SHOW UP & fail. Don’t let the things you don’t know, be the thing that stops you. You are FAR more capable than you even know, you CAN figure it out, & you DON’T have to do it alone.

Quotes:

“Thinking about it, and not DOING anything, is going to leave you feeling the same way.”

“Inaction is still a choice… Inaction actually breeds fear & all this nasty stuff in our head.”

“Life is rigged in your favor.. life is working FOR you.”

“You’ve got to fill your cup to the point of OVERFLOW.”

“It’s never gonna be a lack of resources, it’ll just be a lack of resourcefulness that will help you get you where you want to go.”

“You do NOT have to stay stuck.”

“Don’t question if there’s something wrong with you, question the BELIEF that something is wrong with you, because you are too damn smart to be the only thing standing in your way.”
