Monica Defend is the head of the Amundi Institute, a Paris-based investment research unit of Amundi, the only European firm listed in the global asset management Top 10, with some two trillion euro in assets under management.

Private debt of senior secured loans zijn in trek bij institutionele beleggers. Ze kunnen hoge rendementen bieden tegen een relatief laag risico. Het geheim van de smid is het kiezen van bedrijven met bedrijven met een duurzaam concurrentievoordeel, relatief ongevoelig voor conjuncturele schommelingen.
