208: Fan Favorite Replay: Tips for Scheduling Time Off as a High-Achieving Business Owner

13m · Published 30 Apr 08:00

We all need a break sometimes.

In this week's episode of The Leading Lady Podcast, I am talking about the importance of taking a break. You don’t need to wait for an opening to get a break or a “good time” to take a vacation, you can schedule these breaks or vacations into your life whenever you need them.

I know it can seem impossible to do because, as entrepreneurs and high-achieving women, we are never away or cut off from our businesses, and we are the decision-makers so it’s hard to step away like that, but what you need to do is plan ahead so that you can take a successful break.

Tune in to learn more about my top tips for getting the rest and rejuvenation you need.

207: Why Saying YES to What You Don’t Want Says NO to Your True Passions

15m · Published 23 Apr 08:00

Let’s talk about the power of saying no.

By that, I mean sometimes when we say “no”, we are actually saying “yes”. Now I know what you may be thinking- no means no, right? I get that!

By saying no to something, you are often saying yes to something else. In this week’s episode of Leading Lady, I am diving into why saying no to what doesn’t light you up means saying yes to the things that matter.

Oftentimes when I am working with clients, setting boundaries, both personal and professional, is something that they really want to work on. They want to achieve the highly sought-after work-life balance and find more time for their passions, and they know that setting boundaries is the key to making that happen.

Some people just struggle to say no to things that don’t feel right for them. But when you say yes to that thing, what are you actually saying no to? Are you saying no to the time and freedom to do the things that really light you up and fuel your fire?

In order to be your best, most authentic self, you have to prioritize things that align with your mission, vision, and values. That means being careful about what you say yes to so that you can prioritize the things that are truly important to you and your business.

Tune in to this episode to learn more about why it is so important to prioritize the things that truly light you up and learn to say no to the things that don’t.

206: Fan Favorite Replay: Don't Call Me a Mompreneur

19m · Published 16 Apr 08:00

Are you a working mom?

In today’s episode of Leading Lady, I’m talking about the unique challenges and circumstances I have faced as a working mom myself. Before you think that this episode is about how much harder it is being a working mom than it is for other women in business, I want to say that I have tried very hard not to tie up my identity in motherhood.

I believe that we are unique and whole just as women alone. Our roles as moms and entrepreneurs are just other facets of us.

This is why I am not a fan of words like mompreneur and mom boss. They get under my skin because my husband has never been called a dadpreneur or a dad boss. In general, men don’t lead with parenthood as their identifier.

I’m not going to debate who has it harder in this episode, glorify working moms, or minimize women building careers without children. The purpose of this episode is simply to share that yes, I am a mom, I do run my own businesses alongside raising my family, and it does present some challenges.

If you are a mom and you want to feel validated, seen, heard, or just get some tips on how to balance it all, make sure to tune in to this episode.

205: Fan Favorite Replay: How to Show Up Consistently and Authentically in Your Business

16m · Published 09 Apr 08:00

Let’s talk about consistency!

In business, it is so important that you show up consistently. This is one of the most important factors of success, but how do you choose what platform to be consistent on? There are many to choose from, but you don’t have to be on them all if that doesn't feel right to you.

For me, it’s all about the platform that I feel most comfortable on. This is important for me to feel like my most authentic self. It’s easy to get lost in all of the latest social media trends and feel overwhelmed with trying to keep up with it all.

The truth is, if you try to show up on all of these platforms that you don’t normally spend your time on, it’s just not going to feel good to you, and it’s hard to stay consistent with something that doesn’t feel good.

If dancing in Reels or on TikTok doesn’t feel right, then don’t! There are no rules for what you do and don’t have to do to be successful in your business. You are in charge of your business choices.

Tune in to this episode of Leading Lady to hear more about how to find the right platform for your business, how to show up consistently, tips for choosing topics to share, and how to nurture your relationship with your audience.

This episode is packed with tips, you don’t want to miss it!
