I WAS KIDNAPPED FOR THIS EPISODE. LOL

58m · Published 30 Sep 09:00

My good friend Tabitha ambushed me after her episode and decided to interview me instead, find out things I haven't thought of in a while about my life and my career as a creative living in Ghana. On this episode, I share my experience on my journey so far, where I'm headed and how some of the learnings I've picked up over the years as a creative entrepreneur can help other people grow as well.

And oh, October is my birth month so if anybody wants to gift me with a free book or some animation courses online, i'd be grateful lol. Also, an apple watch won't be bad *coughs* Ok bye.

As always, don't forget to take notes & share some of your learnings on social media. *wink *wink

SOCIAL MEDIA & CREATIVE MENTAL HEALTH

43m · Published 16 Sep 12:49

Being a creator on today’s digital age requires that you put yourself and your work online. Once it’s out there, you subject yourself to critique and comments that might be hurtful to you as a person. Sheldon is one of the biggest creators in Ghana and has seen online abuse firsthand (with attacks both on his work and persona) today’s episode discusses these issues and takes a dive into how he navigates these mental waters.

As always, don't forget to take notes & share some of your learnings on social media. *wink *wink

EXPORTING YOUR TALENT TO THE WORLD

1h 5m · Published 09 Sep 11:19

As a young creative growing up anywhere in the world, one of the things we dream of is to be able to export our work to other markets, to see our work on the big screens and to enter into rooms that sometimes seem possible only in our dreams of course. Today's guest has seen and done it all. Coming out of Africa and playing in the big leagues, working with international clients like MTV, DSTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy central, to mention but a few. One thing we try to find out is, HOW? How he did it and how we can also do it.

CREATING CONTENT FOR STARTUPS

44m · Published 02 Sep 09:00

Playing the social media & content game can be a very tricky one. Especially if you're trying to sell goods or services. It can either be a blissful flow of dopamine as a results of lots of love and engagement or a sad cycle of never-ending experiments that leads to crickets all the time. In today's episode, we sit down with Yayra Nutakor, Co-Founder of Fooveo (a digital video marketing agency) and our one and only Instagram Queen of reels to discuss what small businesses and creative freelancers can do to grow their following, build community and most importantly generate leads from social media.

WHAT'S STOPPING YOU?

59m · Published 12 Aug 09:00

Being a medical doctor is not something that is normally simultaneous with art as a whole. The existence of this doctor friend of mine defies this 'sort of' unspoken rule over here that the sciences and the arts do not blend smoothly. He's a full-time doctor and a full-time CG Artist and on this episode, we take a look at his story and how this is even possible in the first place. But in the wise words of Dr. Onyina, "nothing is really impossible if you put your mind to it, there's always a way around it"

A bit of a disclaimer: we're going to be geeking out a lot about some 3D terminologies and creative language. If you're not a 3D artist, please bare with us. There are still awesome gems to be picked from the episode regardless.

PERSONAL GROWTH & HOW IT UNLOCKS CREATIVITY

1h 2m · Published 29 Jul 11:31

Personal growth and development is one thing not many people are very intentional about. We mostly grow into roles and narratives we're used to and comfortable in, but barely question why things are the way they are. In this episode, we hang out with Miss Tabitha, Mother of 4 creative dragons and a few cats, product designer, creative director, and pattern designer to find out how she began her journey to self-discovery. We also discuss how that journey reflects in her work and how she's able to juggle all her dragons without breaking down. lol

DOING WORK YOU LOVE

51m · Published 22 Jul 12:18

In the relatively short time, I've known Fanny, she's moved from doing illustration as a simple hobby to a full-time professional illustrator. Her transition is something that is interesting considering she was scared to make the jump at first but she seems to be enjoying it now. In this episode, we take a look at where she was, where she is now, and what inspired her to chase after what she loved to do most. Also most importantly, how she's making money from it now.

As always, don't forget to take notes & share some of your learnings on social media. *wink *wink
