Episode 98: How Quiet Quitting impacts Entrepreneurs, Emerging Leaders and Executives

36m · Published 07 Sep 01:48

There is a controversial new trend creeping into our workplace culture that some see as a “symptom” of the sickness that is caused by employers who do not value their employees. However, others see it as disgruntled employees doing the bare minimum. Yes, that is right we are talking about “Quiet Quitting”. Quiet Quitting is defined as doing the bare minimum at work meaning “finishing work on time every day, always taking your lunch break, or turning down projects that are outside of your job”, some might say just doing your job and not going above and beyond. Although we are strong advocates for setting boundaries and ensuring your wellbeing comes first, we would never argue for anyone giving less than they can; especially when they themselves agreed to do something. We want to look at “Quiet Quitting” as a sign you are not aligned with your passion and purpose in life and instead of quitting you need to dig deeper and do something about it.

In this episode, you will discover:

· The 3 things you can learn from “Quiet Quitting” to excel your company.

· The signs you have already “Quiet Quit” on yourself and your dreams.

· How doing the bare minimum at work negatively impacts your mindset.

Managing Director at a global leader HR service company, Jaya Dass is convinced that “What used to be a passive-aggressive challenge of work-life balance is now becoming a very direct request. It’s not a request anymore. It’s a demand.”  We agree that the culture is determined by the company's leader and how they treat their employees will have a direct effect on their bottom line. Although, we believe if you are being fairly untreated it is not a good idea to “Quiet Quit” it is a better idea to reevaluate your passion, purpose, and plan in life. You have the direct power to put your “house” in order and if done correctly you do not have to stay at a place you want to “leave” you can find yourself in a place you would do anything to stay. Join us this week as we break down “Quiet Quitting” and show you how to realign your actions with your values, so you can start taking action towards your dreams and future today.

Episode 96: Spiritual Wellness Strategies for Entrepreneurs, Executives and Emerging Leaders

30m · Published 23 Aug 14:21

One of the most misunderstood concepts is Spiritual Well-being, as many people think it refers to a “particular religious or spiritual practice/ideology”. When what it truly is, is one's pursuit of life’s meaning, their individual purpose, and a connection to something greater than oneself. However, finding meaning and purpose in life is just the foundation of one’s spiritual well-being as determining one’s values, beliefs and morals are just as equally important. It has been said that if you don’t stand for something you will fall for everything, and you are vulnerable to that if you haven’t started the internal journey of taking time to establish these things. Your values and morals should be aligned with your actions and when they are not you can easily move into a distressed state. Studies have shown that strong spiritual well-being can lead to self-compassion, confidence, and resilience.

In this episode, you will discover:

  • Effective strategies to experience greater joy in life and business.
  • The signs that you may be in spiritual distress.
  • The 3 things you need to be doing to achieve spiritual well-being.

Stephen Covey eloquently reminds us to “Remember, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” He insists that our spirituality is who we are not what we experience, thus making it even more important we put things into practice to increase our spiritual well-being.  Join us this week as we discuss tips and strategies that positively impact your spiritual health, so you can start taking action towards your dreams and future today.

Episode 94: Mental Wellness Tips for Entrepreneurs

43m · Published 09 Aug 00:00

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that mental health “includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relates to others, and make choices”. They have even found that over 50% of the population will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. Sadly for entrepreneurs/business owners that statistic goes up to 72%. So the question becomes what are the 28% doing to stay mentally healthy and successful and is there patterns that we can learn not to do from those that become impacted?

In this episode, you will discover:

• Effective strategies to protect, promote and restore your mental health.

• Understanding the significance your mental health plays in your business.

• What makes certain individuals more vulnerable to mental health problems.

Renowned PhD Noam Shpancer reminds us that "Mental health…is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going." It is a complex continuum that is not a one size strategy fits all. Each of us needs to advocate and create our own personal mental health plan that includes supportive individuals, environments, and routines. Join us this week as we discuss tips and strategies that positively impact your mental health, so you can start taking action towards your dreams and future today.

Episode 93: Wellness Tips and Strategies for Entrepreneurs

21m · Published 01 Aug 21:57
One of the greatest compliments given is “you are a go-getter with limitless ambition and an inventive mind”. The flip side of this comment for entrepreneurs was founded by the National Institute of Mental Health when their studies showed that 72% of entrepreneurs are affected (directly and or indirectly) by mental health issues compared with their non-entrepreneur counterparts who were 48%. Furthermore, they also found that “49% of entrepreneurs deal with mental health issues directly while only 32% of others experienced them”. However, it does not have to be this way, these statistics are reversible and positively you can avoid them altogether. In this episode, you will discover: • 3 things you can do today to increase your overall wellness. • Understanding the connection between wellness and productivity. • How your mental health impacts your finances. Health and wellness guru Laurette Gagnon Beaulieu nailed it when she said “Wellness encompasses a healthy body, a sound mind, and a tranquil spirit. Enjoy the journey as you strive for wellness.” That is right wellness is a journey and encompasses several areas in your life such as your mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, and financial. These areas can all play together in harmony or discord, it’s up to you. Join us this week as we discuss tips and strategies to increase your wellness in the vital areas of your life, so you can start taking action towards your dreams and future today. Episode 92: 3 Tips for Surviving the Summer Business Slump

14m · Published 26 Jul 02:19

Many businesses have a slow season some are in winter while others seem to be in summer. Studies show us that during the summer employees tend to be more distracted and production decreases. They have also been known to show up a little later, leave a little early, and call out more to extend their weekend. There are many reasons this happens, clearly, the weather or the kids being on break are two main ones. So the question becomes do entrepreneurs also hit a “wall” during this time? Absolutely, but the wall may not be what you think, the wall is their mindset and their over-focus on the sales slowing down throwing them into a summer depression. It is when their mindset is weaker than all the other distractions that become a problem.

In this episode, you will discover:

  • 3 things you can do today to get out of your summer sales fog.
  • The one thing you should be doing to keep your mind healthy.
  • How top entrepreneurs get out of emotions and back into their business.

Super salesman and bestselling author Zig Ziglar, says “If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.”  Perhaps one of the hardest parts of summer is the lack of outside structure and false beliefs that this is a “slow season”. If sales is a math formula and you are getting more no’s than other seasons the first place to start is increasing the number of potential customers you are asking. Furthermore, the energy around how you ask will influence the results of the conversation, you must work on your mindset and beliefs. Join us this week as we discuss how to develop new behaviors, routines, and habits during the summer, so you can start taking action towards your dreams and future today.
