How To Reach An Audience

24m · Published 15 Mar 13:00

So how do you reach an audience?

Anyone who’s ever made a piece of content and published it has worried about it reaching the intended audience.  What if no one sees, hears or reads it?  All that work for nothing.  And worse than that there’ll be no results. Other than you pulling your hair out.

But with a good plan before you start you can avoid the sad sound of… “cue crickets”

If you figure out who your audience is and where they are online before you start, and you craft your message into a great story that’ll interest them- you’re already half way there.

Mike and Sue have spent many years creating online content that connects and resonate with audiences all around the world.  They’ve had to think through strategies and conduct research time and again to ensure that the content they make does reach an audience.

In this episode of the Moonshine Moonshot podcast, they’re talking about reach, how to get to your audience and its packed full of tips and tricks including what the different platforms are good for.

How can a film generate impact?

15m · Published 24 Feb 01:00

In this episode of the Moonshine Moonshot series, Mike Hill and Sue Collins are breaking down how to make an impact with film and sharing lots of info on how they’ve turned their content into world-changing documentaries.

How can a film generate impact and what does that even mean?

We’re glad you asked!

After pouring your time and energy into a project be it big or small, you want to see results. But so often it’s a lacklustre outcome and your left scratching your head as to why it didn’t get the attention it deserved?  Sure, your mum loved it, but let’s face it, she’ll love anything you do.

We hear about it all the time.  The marketing team or ad agency, PR film etc promised it would have big results and was worth the investment, but all you hear is crickets.  No thumbs up or the treasured heart emoji, no comments, likes or shares.  And now you’re left with a bill and not much to crow about.

But, with a bit of planning at the outset, you can avoid having your project land in the vast silent vacuum of space and get it in front of an audience who craves it. (and shares, likes, heart.)

You’ll have them craving more, leading to high levels of engagement, big uptake on your call to action, and plenty for you to rave about.  In short, your project will make an impact.

What is Storytelling for Impact?

12m · Published 17 Feb 06:00

In this weeks episode of the Moonshine Moonshot series Mike Hill and Sue Collins are breaking down impact storytelling, specifically visual storytelling, and giving you tips on how to craft yours.

They‘re talking about impact, unpacking what that means and how you can leverage storytelling to get folks taking the action you need them to take.

So, what is storytelling for impact?

Ok, so it’s probably not a burning question but it just might be one you’re curious about.

Time and again we speak to people that have a really important mission or a great business but they just can’t find the right way to get their message across. Working out where to start and what platform to use is really confusing.  There are so many options with everything from blogs, podcasting, websites, social media and traditional advertising.  And some even freak out “Ah, storytelling, sounds like a creative thing.”

Not to mention the icky idea of being in front of a camera.

Here’s a secret, if you can craft a great story it won’t matter which platform you choose because it will work on all of them and people will love it.

It will engage them, intrigue them and you can end with a call to action that takes them to the next step in joining your tribe.
