46m · Published 25 Aug 08:00

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!

Are you thinking about retiring your spouse and bringing them into your business?

First of all, congratulations! That’s a big step, and it’s exciting that you’re even considering it. I know that you probably have a lot of questions about what this process might look like for you, so I brought my husband, Scott, onto the podcast to talk all about working with a spouse.

Whenever I mention that my husband works with me, I get so many questions from people who want to retire their spouses but aren’t sure how which is why I wanted to make this episode for you.

Scott and I are chatting about our back story, what it’s like to work together, and what Scott has worked on in the business over the years. We’re sharing five tips to help you work together without wanting to kill each other as well as some ideas for what your spouse could do in your business. Grab a pen and paper, and get ready to write down the ideas that resonate with you!

Episode 84 Takeaways:

+ Have realistic expectations for working with your spouse.

+ It takes time and trying things out to find the perfect role for your spouse.

+ Just because you’re retiring your spouse doesn't necessarily mean they want to work in your business.

+ Everyone’s timing is different.

+ Make sure that your spouse is working in their area of genius.

+ Stay in your lane.

+ Declare your work time.

+ Declare your workspace.

+ Have fun working together.

+ Your spouse can learn how to do new things.

Bringing your spouse home to work with you is exciting and rewarding, but it does take a little bit of time and work to get it right.

I want you to know that we’re not perfect and no one is, so it’s really important to have realistic expectations for working with your spouse.

The most important thing to make sure of is that your spouse is doing something they love and working in their zone of genius. If they don’t want to work in your business, that’s okay, but if they do, I hope this episode helps you to get started.

26m · Published 11 Aug 08:00

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!

Have you ever found yourself thinking things like “no one could do this like me,” or “I’m the only one who can do this”?

Those thoughts are holding you back from getting the help you need to grow your business.

Recently, I had to step away from my business for a little while (I’ll talk about why in this episode) so my team had to take over. We had a sale planned that I thought we would have to cancel, but they handled the whole thing, and guess what? It was super successful!

In this episode, I’m sharing how my team generated 130k in sales without me. That’s right, not only can my team handle things without me, they can do it even better than I could!

Episode 82 Takeaways:

+ Sometimes life gives you things you didn’t plan for.

+ Build a team that can work without you.

+ Hire team members who can be resourceful.

+ Trust others to be good at what they do.

+ Your team knows you and your business better than you realize.

+ Let your team members take over things that they enjoy doing.

+ Think about where you want your business to be in the future.

+ Make decisions for your future business.

+ There are people who can do what you do.

I hope that you have someone helping you in your business and taking things off your plate. If you don’t, take this episode as a sign that maybe you should.

You might feel like no one can do what you do as well as you do it, but they can, and when you have people on your team who can take over for you, your life becomes a whole lot easier.

If you’re looking for more resources about how to hire, I’ve created an entire workshop to help you get started. It will teach you when to hire, what to hire for, how to hire, and everything else you need to know. You can find it linked below!

Must Know Tips For Pricing Your TpT Resources

25m · Published 21 Jul 08:00

Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast!

Do you want to know how you can make more money without having to create more products?

Let’s chat about pricing your TpT resources!

I want you to listen to this episode with an open mind because I know that people have very different opinions about pricing.

Here’s what I think: You are underpricing your resources.

I know this to be true because I do it too. We want to create resources that teachers can afford, so we undersell ourselves. What if it doesn’t have to be that way?

In this episode, I am sharing 5 tips to help you decide on fair prices for your TpT resources. Don’t worry, I’m not telling you to have crazy high prices or rip off your audience. I believe that you need to have prices that are reasonable and attainable for your audience, while also giving you the return on investment that you deserve.

Episode 79 Takeaways:

+ You deserve to be paid for your value.

+ There is no mathematical formula for pricing resources.

+ Do not price by page number.

+ Stop deciding that teachers can't afford resources that are priced appropriately.

+ Teachers will pay for value.

+ Think about what has to be included in a resource to give it more value.

+ Stop looking at other people’s prices.

+ Don’t overthink it.

+ Don't raise your price right before a sitewide sale.

+ Pay attention to your data.

I know that this episode will give you some new ideas and a fresh perspective! After listening in, I want you to take some time to look at your TpT store and pick one product or line that needs to be increased.

Remember, you deserve to charge what you are worth!

How much time do you spend writing product descriptions? Do you tend to leave them until the last minute?

This is a really important topic that we sometimes let slide. Product descriptions are actually super important! They are basically little sales pages for every single one of your products.

In this episode, I am breaking down why you should prioritize product descriptions, and I’m sharing a few tips on writing TpT product descriptions that sell.

Episode 78 Takeaways:

+ Write your product descriptions in advance.

+ Every single one of your product descriptions is a sales page.

+ Don’t make product descriptions the last part of product creation.

+ It only takes a little time to make your product descriptions stand out.

+ The snippet is an important part of your description.

+ Use keywords naturally.

What conferences are you hoping to get to this year?

I’ve been to a lot of different conferences over the years, so I've learned so much about how to prepare myself to get the most out of them.

I truly believe that conferences are a great investment. I know they can get pricey, but they are great learning experiences, motivators, and places to make new friends.

If you've ever been to a business conference, you know that while it is all of those things, it can also be overwhelming.

To try to make it less overwhelming, I’m breaking down 5 tips that I think are going to help you to get the most out of conferences based on what I have learned and done at all the conferences I've been to.

+ Choose a note-taking system that works for you.

+ Turn off notifications or use a device without social media on it.

+ Be flexible and open to changing your schedule.
