The final episode in this series about all things personal impact is now available, this week we have G (Gamal Turawa) "We are all three people. I am who you think I am, I am who I think I am, I am who I really am. How do I get all 3 to be as close to one as possible" ( I had to repeat this a few times to get it straight in my head) G was the first openly gay black police officer in the metropolitan police. He is now a diversity trainer, facilitator and life coach. He talks about being on stage as a warm up for his uncle's magic shows, the balance of preparation vs spontaneity, why he joined the police and wanting a voice like Patrick Stewart.....

This the podcast about Personal Impact, where we discuss all things presentation and how you bring your best self into the room (remote or otherwise) This week Alex Finn of PwC shares his experience of standing for parliament in Middlesboro. A big theme is bringing fun and joy to serious professional roles, he has a portrait of a general with an owls head above his desk as a reminder. We discuss early days of being a partner, of deliberately using unconventional ways of running conferences, and knocking on doors in a general election.

Noa & Jane Hoskisson

Welcome to Noa & The Art of Presentation Ep. 6. In this episode Jane Hoskisson and Noa talk about warmth and lightness. Jane describes lessons learnt by pushing too hard, how having fun and laughing at oneself has not only freed her up, it shows more confidence. She gives a really useful insight into the use of mind mapping instead of speaker notes. I've started to do the same and it's much more freeing.

Noa & Tim Mitchell

26m · Published 05 May 08:56
Welcome to episode 5 of our podcast about Personal Impact, where we discuss all things presentation and how you bring your best self into the room (remote or otherwise) This week Noa & Tim Mitchell discuss headphone reliability (he recommends Sony) and body language; it doesn't bode well when the CEO closes his book half way through a meeting. Tim Mitchell is a founding Partner of PEN, a specialist management consultancy partnership. He describes lessons learnt when being called out on presenting more than he thought he could actually deliver. As a result, when setting up PEN, one of his mantras has been to pitch only for work he absolutely knows they can do a first class job on. It's clearly been a successful strategy, as PEN are now in the UK's top 10 places to work for and a 'centre of excellence for wellbeing'.

Noa & Mike V Maloney

39m · Published 28 Apr 11:30
Technical merit, artistic impression. Mike V Maloney shares his ice skating formula on personal impact in Ep 4 of our podcast. Mike is an epic Movember fundraiser, auditor and now author. Mike describes hearing the news in 2013 that he had prostate cancer. "Like sitting in a canoe that's been turned upside down in freezing water and being unable to come back to the surface" He talks about emotion and his professional persona. A big theme for him as one of the things that changed as a result of cancer was to honour the moments that matter in life. Finally, he gives a great view of communication as ice skating with points awarded for technical merit and artistic impression. Oh, and at the end Dom our producer gets involved which is great. He's petrified of public speaking and we often discussed using this fear as part of the subject for this podcast. Here he is asking some great questions about Mikes encounter with mortality which leads to a great response about sparks and emotional connectivity.

Noa & Lianne Craig

42m · Published 21 Apr 14:15
This week Lianne Craig shares her experiences of being a commercial litigator, being authentic and how those didn't always sit comfortably together. "The Black Egg contains one of life's essential treasures, the truth. Inside resides no confusion, excuses, small talk, noise or lies." Being too much, having to reign it in and paradoxically when able to express that energy, communicating at her best. Appearing on Radio 4 and national TV, going off script, going blank and the power of silence are some of what we discuss.

How 'goals for roles' worked at first until getting so busy he couldn't flip flop between different versions. "I'm just going to be me".
