075: The High Price You're Paying for Inaction

17m · Published 20 Mar 05:30

Do you hope that if you leave things alone they’ll sort themselves out?

Maybe you believe the old adage that “time heals all wounds”.

While this may be true for some things it’s definitely not true when it comes to your gifts!

In this matter, time will not lead to something better automatically.

In fact, the opposite will happen in time to your creating muscles.

They’ll atrophy. They’ll congeal. They’ll get flabby and weak.

In this episode, I share a very squeamish personal story about how I learned that you must happen to your life and your gifts or things will fester and go very bad.

I hope it inspires you to get up off the couch of your life and into your creating workshop!

Hold on to your hat!

073: Ownership is Non-Negotiable

20m · Published 21 Feb 06:30

What can we learn from Ms. Celie of The Color Purple and Tyler Perry?

Well as it turns out…alot!

These two are powerhouses when it comes to personal branding and creating in a way that allows them to be paid to be themselves.

In this episode, I tease out how they both live out the Reframe to Create 3 Pillars of Getting Paid to Be You.

These are about how to create with your gifts, own what you create, and tell powerful stories about it.

Create. Own. Storytell.

These are the three areas you need to focus on if you’re going to set yourself apart this year and make the unique contribution you were born to make.

But we dig deeper into ownership and why it's non-negotiable.

Listen in to see how they do it and how you can do it too!

072: We Don't Talk About Bruno...but We'll Be Sure to Use Him

15m · Published 07 Feb 06:30

Do you know your mission?

When was the last time you reviewed it or did something that moved you toward it?

Staying mission-minded instead of job-focused is something I advise my clients to do all the time.

But it’s tough when you work in a job-obsessed society and in a job that might be full of constant change and drama.

How do you stay focused and keep creating under these circumstances?

You need to give your job a different role so that you can be about the business of being a creating maven who is making a unique contribution and getting paid to be you.

In this episode, I’ve got two reframes for you on how to think about your job so that instead of you getting sucked into its vortex you make it serve you, your life, and what you want to create.
