40s · Published 24 Jan 12:00
A little about our guests. Amanda was born in Louisiana, then moved to Oklahoma, Arizona, and Florida as a child. She returned to Arizona as an adult. David hails from Chicago and is a big sports fan. Amanda received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Behavioral Studies and is working toward her PhD. in Transpersonal Counseling with an emphasis on sexual health. David’s background is in retail. He has always wanted to go into business for himself and, with Amanda, began that journey 2 ½ years ago. Amanda knew she did not want a traditional job, so together they created Delightfully Vixen. A little about their business. It was a need for extreme flexibility in her schedule that started Amanda searching for something she could do. She found an under-served market in women who needed bra-fitting and lingerie and weren’t “average.” She added in her studies to create a safe space for women and couples to ask about various areas of sexual health. David’s background in retail, his knowledge of apparel, and his knowledge of marketing has helped get this dream of both of them off the ground. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) When you make the decision to get into business for yourself, really know what business you are getting in to. Scout it out for more than just a few months and learn all you can. A graduate of San Diego State University, Bodie actually started in the Real Estate business at the ripe old age of 12, helping her mother with rental properties. Mitchell grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota where he studied architecture and engineering. Probably somewhere in the middle of a North Dakota winter, Mitchell decided he wanted to move to California and landed in Temecula. Mitchell and Bodie have 2 sons. Bodie was very involved in various committees in their school as well as the varsity and JV football programs. A little about their business. After working for a few architecture firms in southern California, Mitchell created his own company. Unfortunately, the real estate slow down in the 90’s saw him working for another firm during the day while building Mitchell J Architecture at night. In 1998, he went full time and full force into his own firm with Bodie joining and he hasn’t looked back. In addition to traditional architecture work, they design wireless networks for all the major cell phone carriers and have worked with the Coast Guard, Border Patrol and Homeland Security. They are currently working on a dedicated First Responder Network for LA County. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) When you follow up and do what you say you will, you are ahead of the game and ahead of most people. Have integrity in all things. Do what you love and the money will follow. 58s · Published 13 Dec 16:34
A little about our guests. Rocky made it all, lost is all and made it all back again, bigger and better than before. After unknowingly getting into a Ponzi scheme, Rocky lost his money, home, and family. Things did not look good. He rebuilt his life focusing on his own physical health first. When he began winning bodybuilding championships, Rocky took the words that inspired him and began to put them on clothing to inspire others. Rocky credits all the wonderful things in his life to his attitude of gratitude. He is grateful for everything in his life now and grateful for the things to come as if they are here, right now. Cheryl is a certified personal trainer who loves working with people. Her background is in business management and business finance. Cheryl and Rocky met when she was a trainer at Rocky’s gym. Good grades in English class gave her the courage she needed. As they got to know each other, Cheryl decided she wanted to date Rocky, but knew his passion for his business meant she was going to become passionately involved as well. A little about their business. As Rocky came out the other side of his darkest time, he used words of encouragement to keep himself going. He then created a clothing line around those empowering words and phrases. More than just words, Rocky used a step by step program he created to bring into his life the exact things he wanted, including Cheryl. After meeting Cheryl and working on the book together, Cheryl began working in Samson LIFE Challenge, the program Rocky developed. Cheryl and Rocky quickly found a rhythm and found their skills perfectly complimented each other. They began building the online version of the Samson LIFE Challenge while working together on workshops, speaking engagements, and coaching. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) Your relationship is more important than anything you are doing together. Put the relationship first. 131: Treat Your Business Cards Like Gold

11s · Published 17 Nov 12:00
About the show Ever been to a networking event where someone in the crowd plays the card game? You know the game. It is where a business owner runs around the room as fast as they can and hands their business card to anyone who will take it. There is even a long-time business owner here in Phoenix who leaves business cards on any and every flat surface, including the top of urinals. We can’t make this stuff up. What if your business cards were dipped in gold, would you throw them around to anyone and everyone? Of course not. You would hand them out to only the most deserving of people. There would be an etiquette to the way you give out your cards. On today’s show, we talk about handing out your cards and using them as a way to build relationships, not just add people to your email list without permission. When you use your business cards for good, you create better relationships. Get in Touch with Us www.Together247.net [email protected] 602-399-7430 Facebook – https://Facebook.com/RealTogether247

Before writing a book with Aaron and creating their speaking and social entrepreneur business together, Jocelyn was a registered nurse. A little about their business. They’ve created workshops and speak about being new power couples. One piece of advice (the nutshell version) Everyone has a particular set of skills and a message. 129: Is Your Email Address Professional?

10s · Published 10 Nov 12:00
About the show Take a look at your business card or your signature on emails. What is your business email address? If you are still using a business email address that is [email protected] or [email protected], you are projecting an amateurish and non-professional face to the world. Whether you’re in business by yourself, with your sweetheart or you manage a few or few hundred people, email addresses can be the first impression someone has of your business. On today’s episode, we get this serious pet peeve out of our system by giving you our thoughts on the impression you make with an unprofessional email address.
