Finding the Right Path for You through Holistic Life Coaching

14m · Published 10 May 17:38

Mind, body and spirit are three ingredients necessary to achieve a holistic balance in one’s life. It’s the job of Jillian Arena, Owner of Intuitive Balance Coaching and a holistic life coach, to strike that balance within her clients.

The AchNet Origin Story

For some employees, dealing with a difficult boss is themost stressful part of their job. Manoj Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of professional development network AchNet, shared tips for dealing with a bad boss on this episode of We Achieve, hosted by Shelby Skrhak.

"We need to understand the personality type of our boss and understand the person," Gupta said. "We need to know the things that tick him off. What are the things he doesn't like? We try to make sure our strategy is formulated in such a way that we don't do things that can unnecessarily create stress for the boss — and us, as well."

Learning these personality and work traits is the first step to tailoring how you communicate to best succeed with your boss's method of management. Understanding how the boss prefers to work — and therefore manage — is how to "manage up."

"Then, try to work within the boundaries that are set by the boss," Gupta said.

These boundaries are how the boss prefers to operate. They may be communicative in the early morning but not later in the day. They may want daily updates on project progress, but may not have the time to ask for them. They may often act reactive, rather than proactive.

"There are certain things we may not like, but we have to figure out a way to communicate our thoughts in a more positive way to our boss rather than showing a reaction," Gupta said. "This way, we start turning around the boss towards us."

Gupta also shared stories of his own difficult bosses and how we dealt with them. "I have taken my superiors as people from whom I learn – I have to learn from them," he said.

The ACHNET Origin Story

Manoj Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of AchNet, joined host Shelby Skrhak to discuss the origins of AchNet and its mission, goals, and objectives moving into the future.

The beginnings of AchNet start with Gupta, whose 30-plus-year career in working with and running technology firms gave him an insider’s view into the kind of solutions these companies need to hire the right people and build a successful brand.

“One of the things I felt, when I was running teams and still when I’m running a company, is that there are many people not happy within an organization,” Gupta said. “Companies tend to hire more and more people and put them into the workforce without understanding whether they are the right fit for the particular role or not.”

Tips for Success on the ACHNET Platform

Maybe you feel like you have so much room for growth in your professional life, but you’re still stuck at a standstill. Perhaps, you’re ready to take that next step in your career, but you’re not exactly sure what direction to head in.

ACHNET can help you get there.

Host Shelby Skrhak met with Amber Pizano, the brand ambassador for ACHNET, to learn more about the platform and how ambitious professionals can use it to advance their own career.

But, first, what exactly is ACHNET?

“It’s a networking platform targeted towards active professionals who are into professional development,” Pizano said. “You can hunt for jobs, connect with your old colleagues, conduct peer reviews, and they have so many tools you can use in a professional setting.”

Pizano then recounted her own experience with ACHNET’s platform and explained how the organization hired her through the network itself. She also began working one on one with a coach from the website, who helped her break through some of the mental limitations she had placed on herself.

“Once you get over that intimidation and really value and respect your own input and education and experience, you can bring so much to the table,” Pizano continued. “I was really the one standing in my way, and the coach was the one that helped me recognize that I had blamed maybe sexism or the glass ceiling, but a lot of it was self-sabotage, and I didn’t realize it.”
