Creamy Porridge (by Harvey & Mikey)

58s · Published 16 Jan 07:00

Here's everything you need to make creamy porridge...

This recipe makes two bowls.

  • Half-a-cup of porridge oats
  • Half-a-cup of milk
  • Any toppings you might like!

You'll also need a saucepan and a wooden spoon.

Just so you know, in cooking, a 'cup' isn't really a measurement. What's important is that the ingredients are measured in equal amounts.

So basically add enough oats for two people and the same amount of milk...

Remember to always get help from a grown-up when working in the kitchen.

Put the saucepan on the stove and using a wooden spoon, stir the mixture until it's warm and the oats have broken down a bit.

Empty this into a bowl and then top with anything you like, from a squeeze of honey or maple syrup to delicious fruit like blueberries or strawberries.

You can even add spices, like cinnamon or vanilla!

Snacks In A Jar (by Albie & Finlay)

38s · Published 15 Jan 07:00

Here's everything you need to make the yummy snack pots that Albie and Finlay chat about!

  • a selection of dips – like hummus, guacamole, or salsa
  • a selection of dippers – like carrot sticks, celery, cucumbers or more!

You'll also need a jar, and a knife.

Remember to always get help from a grown-up when working in the kitchen.

Begin by chopping all the vegetables into sticks.

Grab your jar – a jam jar will do – and dollop loads of your dip into it. Hummus is good, as is guacamole.

Then, stick your vegetable treats into the jar and screw the lid on.

That's it! you can pop the jar in your backpack or carry it with you as a trendy snack!

Bhuja (by Prianka)

1m · Published 14 Jan 07:00

Cook School student Prianka is telling us all about a yummy Indian snack called Bhuja!

Here's everything you need to make it:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 potato
  • Half a bunch of fenugreek leaves
  • Oil
  • Gram flour
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Salt

You'll also need a skimmer, a frying pan, a bowl, a knife and a chopping board!

Begin by chopping all the vegitables into small, tiny pieces.

Then place them into a bowl, give them a good mix, adding the gram flour, a quarter teaspoon of garlic and a quarter teaspoon of ginger.

We're now going to make a dough. To do that, add as much water as you need with a dash of oil here and there.

Form the dough into balls and pop them into a pan of oil to fry them. When they're fried, pop them on a plate! You can then eat them with chilli or tomato sauce!
