Joel Allen, the Assistant Producer for Adelaide Cabaret Festival joins us to talk about the highlights from the festival, running from 10-15 June 2022. With Tina Arena as the Artistic Director, it's sure to be an amazing event.

Johnno is back in the studio! He shares what he's been up to while he's been away, working as the ambassador for the Festival of Voices in Tasmania, running from 1-10 July 2022. All the information about this wonderful event can be found on the festival website, including the Queer Choir Workshop Johnno refers to in this conversation.

Courtney Monsma joins us to talk about her new album 'In The Light' and the difference between recording this album in the studio and performing to live audiences in the role of Anna from Frozen: the Musical.

Adam Noviello returns to the studio to talk about their newest single, Another You, released after the success of their debut single Heretic. While Heretic was the song for the dancefloor, Another You is the reflective 3am soundtrack when you get home and want to stay up a little later. Adam shares some behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the lush black and white video clip, including how he came to work with extraordinary choreographer Michael Ralph.  

Jack Earle joins us to talk about the latest gig for the Jack Earle Big Band - the band he formed in 2008 when he was 12! The Jack Earle Big Band is Australia’s most exciting large jazz ensemble, combining his love of composition, arrangement and public entertainment. In their upcoming performance with special guest vocalist Matt Hetherington, they are performing a myriad of world premier performances of original compositions, and the toe-tapping standards you know and love.

Eric Schmalenberger joins us in the studio to tell us about the latest Australian iteration of Blunderland. The subversive breakout of the international cabaret and circus circuit, Blunderland is here with a STRONG dose of what we all need at the moment: some outrageous circus naughtiness and cabaret club-kid antics suffused with a heady dose of arthouse-weird. A staple of the New York underground queer nightlife scene for over a decade, this show has been titillating packed crowds enthralled with its uniquely whimsical and ridiculous performance combinations. A long-time resident show of famed Brooklyn nightclub The House of Yes, Blunderland has been seducing audiences around the world from New Orleans speakeasies to London theaters.

2022 brings brand new music from one of New Zealand’s favourite singer-songwriters, Mitch James. Mitch James isn’t one for sitting still. Traversing the globe over the past few years to team up with creatives around the world, Mitch has distilled his charm into hooky upbeat pop gem ‘History’. ‘History’ is the first taste of Mitch’s forthcoming album Patience - due for release later this year - and follows on from his 2018-2019 hits ‘Bright Blue Skies’ and ‘Sunday Morning’. He’s shared the stage with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Six60 and more, chalked up close to 200 million global streams, and in 2019 founded a charity that uses music to help people fight mental illness. With ‘History’, Mitch continues his incredible story. In 2019, Mitch created the Bring People Dancing Foundation in 2019 after losing a close friend to suicide. It’s about connecting people through positive experiences and setting future goals that let those with mental illness know they are not alone.  

Sylvie Paladino joins us to discuss an upcoming performance of her concert 'This is My Life', a concert celebration of the leading female singers of the 20th Century. In it, she honours the singers who influenced her career: Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland & Liza Minnelli. Sylvie shares her reflections on her career in concerts and musicals, the joy of working with the 50 piece Melbourne Opera Orchestra and the special place she holds in Australia's Christmas Carol tradition.
