Belonging is vital for our sense of identity and building a community that fosters authentic growth. Catholic tradition tells us we humans were made to live in community, we are social beings by nature created to receive and give love. To have a sense of belonging is intrinsic to our human nature, and it is exactly what we mean when we say human beings were made in the "image and likeness of God".
