Our Loved Ones - Called to care - Christa Joy Health & Well-being sereies

29m · Published 01 Sep 22:00

Contemplation of a Carer:

This is a wonderful episode that puts a face and names to the life of care. We have the privilege to share the empowering story of Christa Joy and her wonderful family and their journey to support their amazing son, Jimmy, who is autistic.

We'll hear about how their lives changed through the diagnostic process. How tough choices needed to be made to support care needs and look after the the needs of the family. Through this, we discuss how Christa developed skills, retrained and set about to create a business aligned to the values to support special kids and their families and how
"I wanted to spend the rest of my life helping them find their way and maximize their potential" Christa Joy

We also discuss the importance of building and maintaining bridges between families and educational settings and how managing conflicts and being aware of differing points of views is critical in order to keep the needs of each child as the primary focus.

As many know, an issue very close to our hearts, this was such an engaging and topical session. It's so important to normalise the needs of all children and ensure that care, curriculum and collaboration is always centre stage. Keeping this as a focal point will hopefully enable our beautiful neuro-diverse children to have the best starts in life and have thriving environments where they can access quality education in whatever forms that may take to have the best outcomes in life.

We celebrate the amazing work that Chrsta Joy is doing to be an amazing carer and contributing in creating outstanding curriculum for educators.

To follow Christa and Jimmy's story and to find out more about the work that Christa is doing, please check out these links.

Lessons Learnt career transitions and relationships

36m · Published 19 Aug 03:00

Time flies when you're having fun!!!!

It's that time again, the new and exciting episode of DaybyDay Insights is now available.

This lovely episode has a tribute to pop culture from the 90's.....want to know more....you'll have to have a listen....It's going to be a good one!!!!!!!

The title of this episode is "Lessons Learned" and the subtitle could very well be called dealing with career transitions and relationship management in the workplace like a BOSS when you're learning to career and life transitions in authentic ways, motivated by your core values!!!!!

Is there a perfect number of career changes?

How do I know if my skills are transferable?

How to manage and negotiate workplace relationships?

What may be some of the differences that I need to consider when looking to re-engage with industry, set up my own business or looking to enter a completely different line of business?

These are questions that many of us may be asking ourselves when we are looking to make a career/ work transition.

In this episode, we have an earnest conversation about some of the lessons that we have learned when navigating through our experiences. This is a timely conversation as many of us will be reframing and rewriting the script of our career journeys considering the current climate. We discuss how we can pivot with grace, resiliency and placing our values at the centre of our career decision making so we can move forward confident in our own abilities.

Remember from last week, we can rewrite the narrative around our life stories....our chapters are yet to be written. Thank goodness for that!!!!!!!

Make sure you have a listen to the episode as we are looking to have a live discussion with some listeners on Saturdays to let us know what you think, how you've been impacted by the tides of change and how you may have gotten stuck / pivoted to navigate your way through it?

Let us know what you think about having a live session to do a review, reset and reframe once a month. Remember to listen to the latest episode and like, comment and share!!!
