Diana was in pursuit of her next career opportunity while she was stuck overseas during the pandemic. She initially wanted to apply for an admin role, however, Marina helped Diana identify her skill set and passions in the Jump Start Your Career Program. This helped Diana realise she had so much more potential.

Claire transitions to a completely new career during the pandemic.

Claire wanted to transition from being a physio to a sales role and struggled to get the job search tools right. Claire contacted Marina who gave her advice on her resume and that’s how all the magic began. Together they identified Claire’s strengths and transferrable skills, and prepared a suite of job search tools which were focused and targeted - her CV, cover letter and LinkedIn profile which led to recruiters contacting Claire.

With Marina’s career coaching, Claire also learnt the importance of the job interview, in particular the first 15 seconds - your first impression, and how crucial it is to building rapport. This led to Claire securing her dream role as an account manager for a tech company!

When an individual has a disability, they learn to advocate for themselves because they know they’ll come across challenges. They develop confidence, resilience, perseverance – all incredible qualities valued by employers. Yet it’s imperative that you demonstrate these qualities when putting yourself forward and applying for jobs.

After completing her university degree Alex, who identifies as deaf, felt challenged by the job search landscape. She had a degree, work experience and confidence yet she felt challenged and wasn’t showcasing her full potential. With the assistance of professional career coaching, Alex was able to get an external perspective on how she could more effectively achieve her goals.

Payal finds career success after Jump Start Your Career program

After job hunting for 18 months, Payal’s confidence and self-belief diminished. She had extensive HR and recruitment experience and skills, yet was unable to find her feet in the Australian job market. She decided to join the Jump Start Your Career program and within two weeks started receiving calls for interviews. Within six weeks of beginning the program she secured her dream job!

She held a variety of roles in her 5 years of employment without much structure and forward planning.
