Turn down those lights, but keep the volume on high. You don't want to miss out on the Whispers.

This week, we're off to Vancouver BC, Canada where at least 7- maybe 8 depending on who you talk to- spirits haunt Hycroft Manor. Fun fact, multiple movies have been shot here AND it's fully rent-able to the public for weddings or other get-togethers.

This manor is stunningly gorgeous to boot.

Join Amy and Nate Whisper as they make you wish you had the money to rent it out for yourself.

Thanks to the listener who sent in the story - it was a good creepy one.

Hello there Whispers!

A tonne of evidence has been collected here with investigations available in longer, video formats online-- now you can go check them all out for yourself after you've listened to the episode!

We chat a bit at the end about where some of our awesome Whispers listeners are from- pretty much all the places, because it's pretty fascinating.

Minisode 1. Trowbridge Falls Park.

23m · Published 10 Feb 03:00

Well, life has done it.
The Whispers have been separated by work keeping us from recording together.

But that doesn't keep us from releasing something... so here's kind of a very short episode to whet your whistle for February 15th's episode.

This minisode, Amy Whisper takes you on a hike through Trowbridge Falls Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario- where you really, really shouldn't hang out and make out in the parking lot. Just saying.

It's a quick one but a good one.

And if you know more about the white lady story at the park, let me know!

50m · Published 26 Jan 05:00

Staying down East this week, but discussing a New Brunswick Island, Bell Island, Nate and Amy Whisper explore the lore of the Bell Island Hag who's so popular that she has stamps that have been made by Canada Post in her honour.
Did she have anything to do with the fae that also roam this tiny island?

Join Nate and Amy as they invite you to learn of some good old fashioned terrifying spectres that haunt or roam New Brunswick.

S1 Ep 14. Peggy's Cove.

45m · Published 12 Jan 05:00

Welcome to the Nor'Western Whispers (unless it's the morning like it was when we recorded... then it's Nor'Whispers).
Today we travel to the far Eastern Coast where Nova Scotia hides an amazing tiny-town tourist area nearby Halifax- a place called Peggy's Cove. Quiet, idyllic, beautiful, and also haunted with a heart-wrenching story of a woman in blue, who lost everything one day on the slippery rocks of Granite that create the coastal edge. She now comes back and is often sighted around the Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, sometimes even moving things or talking to visitors.

S1 Ep13. Edmonton Hauntings Pt. 2

1h 3m · Published 31 Dec 06:00

In this episode, the Whispers finish off their trip to Edmonton, Alberta with a few places: The McKay School, the (now closed) La Boheme Bed and Breakfast, the Hotel McDonald, and the Strathcona Museum and Archives.  It turns out ghosts are pretty widely existing in Edmonton, as there are a tonne of historical houses there.
Join the Whispers as they peruse some of the stories of murder, death, and animals haunting the 8th floor of a hotel??
Thanks to listener Charlie for sending in the story of the Niagara Screaming Tunnel, also!
This is the last Episode before the next decade of 2020. Released on the last day of the 20-teens.

S1 Ep 12. The Peterborough Liftlocks.

56m · Published 15 Dec 20:00

On this chilly day in December, Nate and Amy Whisper explore the Peterborough Liftlocks (in Peterborough, Ontario) where at least 3 but possibly 7 ghosts (or more) roam the grounds and a witch is said to have cursed the land leading to a few accidents and suicides over the years. By day, it's a beautiful and historical site that still functions for its original usage of moving water traveling technology from a lower body of water to a higher body of water... even though it was designed and built at the turn of the 1900s and uses no electricity to do so.
By night, footsteps, apparitions, and flying tools are quite evident, and people who died long ago are still seen wandering the grounds at and surrounding the Peterborough Liftlocks.
Also, friendly PSA: beware the stinging nettle around the Armour Hill area. The witch might be known to attack but at least she goes away shortly enough.

S.1 Ep. 11. Edmonton Hauntings Part 1.

46m · Published 02 Dec 21:00

Turn down those lights, turn up the volume: the Whispers are back!
In this episode, we recount stories from Edmonton, Alberta: where there are a surprising number of popular haunting spots.
Join Nate (who's mildly sick and sounds it!) and Amy Whisper as they take you to three haunted places: The Walterdale Theatre (a retired firehall), The Charles Camsell Hospital (an old and derelict tuberculosis hospital), and  The Princess Theatre (a movie theatre with residential suites and office spaces above). Each one of these places has stories of ghosts that walk the halls: some are malicious, and some are simply there to stay.

S1 Ep 10. Nahanni National Park

56m · Published 17 Nov 05:00

It's time to put on your winter gear for the 10th episode which is taking place in the chilly, very Nor'Western Whispers of the actual far Canadian North: Nate and Amy are exploring the Nahanni National Park in the Northwest Territories. The spirits, demons, UFOs, missing people, headless people, disappearing populations of possibly cannibalistic and definitely dangerous peoples all coincide with an area known for lost mines of the Yukon Gold Rush, a so-called "Garden of Eden", and all written about by a guy named Hammerson Peters in his book, "Legends of the Nahanni Valley".
Amy just covers some of the stories he covers as most of the internet's resources all refer back to him.
