George Midgett is a collegiate athletics pro and servant leader who strives to help others fulfill their greatest potential.
George started his career at Vanderbilt where he worked as a compliance coordinator. He also spent three years working as their Director of ELITE Program [Educating Leaders in Tomorrow's Endeavors] and three more years as an Assistant Director of Compliance.
Mr. Midgett then transitioned to North Carolina Central University where he worked as their Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Engagement for four years.
Most recently, George worked for Kansas Athletics as the Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Outreach which is where we connected.
George attended Fisk University for his undergraduate Business Management studies; he also was a four-year letter winner in baseball. George went on to received his Master's from Belmont University in Sports Administration.

Daron K. Roberts is a former NFL coach and currently serves as the founding director of the Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation (CSLi) at the University of Texas—which he created in the fall of 2014. Daron also lectures in Texas’ Liberal Arts Honors Program, where he focuses on issues of leadership and innovation in the sports industry.
Coach Roberts also created a course - A Gameplan for Winning at Life - that he teaches to nearly 300 incoming freshmen student-athletes at the University of Texas.
Daron is also the author of, "Call an Audible: Let My Pivot from Harvard Law to NFL Coach Inspire Your Transition, which was named a #1 New Release and Best Seller by Amazon and Sports Illustrated selected the book as one of its "Best Sports Business Books of 2017."
Upon graduating from Harvard Law School in 2007, Roberts coached for the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, West Virginia Mountaineers and Cleveland Browns.
He holds a B.A. in Plan II Honors and Government from the University of Texas and an M.P.P. from Harvard's Kennedy School. At the University of Texas, Roberts served as Student Body President and prior to entering graduate school, Roberts worked as an assistant to Senator Joe Lieberman.
In 2010, Daron launched a nonprofit football camp - 4th and 1, Inc. The nonprofit provides free SAT prep, life skills development and football training to at-risk youth across the country. 4th and 1 has served nearly 500 student-athletes since 2010.
Roberts has been featured in ESPN the Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek and Sports Illustrated and contributes to Forbes.com. His articles have appeared in The Dallas Morning News, Fortune, Houston Chronicle, and Time.

Lauren is one of the sharpest, kindest, & most hard-working individuals around. She spent five years with the Kansas Soccer program. Since graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, she has gone on to flourish as a professional with ExxonMobil.

Our guest for the 47th episode of the Get Starked Podcast is a very special fellow! Dimitrije Cabarkapa was born and raised in Serbia. He ultimately made the decision to leave his home country for the United States as he pursued the opportunity of a lifetime to serve as a student-athlete at James Madison University in Virginia.
During his time at JMU, Dimitrije was introduced to the world of sports psychology. The practices and exercises he learned forever changed his perception of the athletic experience.
He is now a Ph.D. student here at the University of Kansas, pursuing a degree in Exercise Physiology. Despite that focus, Dimitrije is still passionate about performance psychology and he shares a plethora of insights regarding that area in the episode!
