Her journey began with the challenges of teenage motherhood, giving birth to her son CJ at the tender age of 16 on October 22, 1991. Amidst uncertainty and doubt, Tanya found the strength within herself to navigate the complexities of parenthood, driven by a fierce determination to provide a better life for her family.
Raised in tumultuous circumstances, Tanya's childhood was marked by poverty, instability, and the specter of abuse. Yet, fueled by an unwavering resolve to break free from the cycle of hardship, she forged ahead, refusing to be defined by her circumstances.
In 2004, a pivotal moment arose when Tanya faced the consequences of a significant mistake, resulting in a nine-month stint in state jail. However, within the confines of those walls, she discovered a newfound sense of purpose and resilience. Through educational pursuits and spiritual enlightenment, Tanya emerged from that chapter with a renewed determination to rewrite her story.
With a relentless drive for success, Tanya embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship, building and selling two successful businesses. Yet, amidst her professional accomplishments, her personal life was marked by profound loss and grief. The passing of her son CJ, followed by the tragic loss of her sister, tested Tanya's spirit in ways she never imagined.
Amidst the depths of her despair, Tanya found solace in faith and community. Inspired by her son's profound wisdom and enduring love, she embarked on a mission to honor his memory and those of other lost loved ones. Thus, the Sunset Stories podcast was born—a beacon of hope and healing for bereaved parents seeking solace and support.
