Mindful Moment - Self Love And Acceptance

We are living in a world right now where a lot of things are confusing. In a world of so many unknowns, I am finding comfort in getting to know and love myself. I am realizing now that it took two brain aneurysms and a scary surgery for me to realize that the life I was living before was not truly living. I often stood in my own way and made decisions out of fear. Now with time, patience, and self acceptance I plan on truly loving myself while living intentionally.

It's the beginning of the year and we all have things that we are motivated about. The question is, why? Why are you motivated about the things that you are? What is it that you need to become motivated? These may seem like pretty basic questions but are they the things you are asking yourself when setting these intentions? Let this be the year where your focus and concentration comes from a place of true self compassion. Allow yourself this time with yourself to reflect on your wants and needs. Then I hope you will feel inspired to set aside more time in this new year to accomplish one intention at a time in order to live a more fulfilling existence.

I am introducing this meditation focusing on energy as a reminder how vital it is to know and accept your energy. I think especially in my case as someone who suffers with chronic illness - I used to struggle with always wanting to create more energy. When you are diagnosed with something such as chronic fatigue syndrome, sometimes it isn’t an option but something that is, is accepting who you are and what you have in that moment.

In a recent Instagram poll I discovered not a lot of people meditate in the evening or before bed. Taking time to reflect and connect with moments throughout your day allows your mind to relax. Sleep plays a big part in our overall health. Meditating and decompressing as a part of your nighttime routine could make for a better day tomorrow. Give this a try an hour or so before bed, try disconnecting from technology once you’ve completed this episode.
