Freeing Yourself From Judgement

29m · Published 01 Jan 00:34

As 2021 comes to an end this is a time for us all to reflect on the year behind us and plan for the year ahead of us. If you are someone who wants to get better in your life, each year usually ends with a period of self reflection. Self reflection can be one of the most helpful processes for our growth if it is done in the right way. What I encourage all of us to stay away from is making judgements about ourselves and others for the lives we are leading. Instead we should make observations about our habits, mindsets, and life as a whole and work towards making small changes that can be sustained over time. The truth is there is no better way to fill our heads with negative thoughts, and lowering our self esteem than judging ourselves. Maybe we acted in a way we did not like but this doesn't mean we need to come from a place of judgement.

Instead come from a place of love and self compassion where we address the root causes behind why act the ways we do, and work on healing yourself and letting go of the things we are holding onto. Overall lets make 2022 the best year yet by reflecting on 2021, creating a plan and vision for our life, and setting ourselves up for success by developing healthy and beneficial habits. I love all of you and I look forward to bringing you the best content possible in 2022.

4 Steps to Overcoming Judgement

17m · Published 28 Dec 16:38

Nowadays Judgement is all around us whether it be about family members, co workers, social media, or mainstream media. Making judgements about the world around us and other people has almost become the new normal. This toxic culture of judgement has created a lot of divide between groups with different ideas and beliefs. This culture has only made us further apart and has created even more hatred.

In order to return to a more accepting and understanding society it first begins with the individual. When we start to realize that we judge others because of our own opinions about ourselves, or personal insecurities we take the first step to over coming judgement. Next comes a four step process that we should all use on a daily basis. The Process is called D.U.A.L or Don't pass Judgement, Understand others, Accept others, and finally love other people. With this process we will be more open to our diversity and differences as people and we will be less judgmental.

If you want to learn more about what causes us to judge other people check out our first episode on judgement called Why Do We Judge Others?

Why Do We Judge?

17m · Published 26 Dec 17:18

I thought this series on Judgement was fitting for the end of 2021. At the end of each year we often judge ourselves when reflecting on the previous year whether it be about out financial, health, relationship or really any other goals we set the previous year. We also judge other people at the end of the year for how they may have treated us, and their personal development.

As we reflect on the year we just had and start to come up with new dreams and ideas for the future let's drop the judgements, let's drop that little story we tell ourselves in our head and lets get straight to the facts no matter how brutally honest they may be. End this year with love and compassion for yourself and other people, and make it your 2022 New Year's Resolution to get better at one thing each and every day.

The Mindset Behind Saving Money and Planning Ahead for Your Financial Future

46m · Published 29 Nov 10:30

If you are young you know the importance of saving money, and investing in your future. The problem is it's so easy to say we will do something without actually making a commitment to get there. Many young people struggle to save money consistently, and usually use the excuse of I'm young. The problem is the longer we wait to save and invest money the less time these dollars will have to work for us in The Stock Market. Saving and investment is just a habit that can start with a few small mindset shifts.

In this episode of The Mind Melt Podcast Mathew Collins and I talk about the three key mindsets that will help everyone save more money in the long run. We also talk about the importance of creating a safe and secure future by getting life insurance early on. The truth is we never know what will happen down the road, so the better prepared we can be for the challenges that lay ahead the better life we will live.

Cognitive Bias - Confirmation Bias

16m · Published 02 Nov 18:37

Welcome to another episode of The Mind Melt Podcast where we focus on opening our minds and hearts to new perspectives and destroyig our biases. This week we are doing a series on Cognitive Biases and the role they play in our decision making. In this episode we dive into Confirmation Bias, or the tendency to only listen to pieces of informmmation that strengthen our beliefs. In the world of politics we see this bias at play all the time when Republicans and Democrats from both sides refuse to listen to opposing viewpoints. This creates a lot of polarity and can make us more divided than ever. I also talk about the role social media has in strengthening our beliefs and censoring us from the whole truth.

If you enjoy any part of this episode make sure to sare it will a friend on social media by copying this link. Tune in later this week for more episodes on Cognitive Biases and how they have a negative impact on our life.

What is a Cognitive Bias?

16m · Published 26 Oct 02:15

In this episode of The Mind Melt Podcast we begin our series on Cognitive Biases. A Cognitive Bias is something in our subconscious mind that plays a role in the decisions we make everyday. These biases can be helpful or harmful in our personal development journey, and overall success in life. In this episode we go into what cognitive biases actually are, give you some examples of how they effect us on a daily basis, and talk about specific cognitive biases such as Anchoring Bias, or Confirmation Bias.

Part of opening our minds is also about understanding and learning how our minds work. When we start to understand what drives and motivated our actions and decisions we can get to know ourselves better, and make the decisions that benefit our future.

This was episode 1 of our series on Cognitive Biases, stay tuned for our next episode on Confirmation Bias.

Ezzell Floranina- Empowering People with Disabilities Through Theatre and Overcoming Trauma Part 1

46m · Published 18 Oct 12:32

This is part one of my podcast with Ezzell Floranina all about giving disabled people an opportunity to heal and grow from the past through Theatre. We are all born with gifts, but we often lose sight of this especially when talking about people with special abilities or "disabilities". In this episode of The Mind Melt Podcast my guest Ezzell Floranina and I talk about giving people who are often overlooked a chance through theatre, and how it can help build self confidence. We go into a form of theatre called Theatre of the oppressed that is all about reliving traumatic experiences, and seeing the situation from a new perspective and point of view. Ezzell gives us a history lesson on the formation of the disabilities stigma, and tells many heartbreaking stories of abuse and mistreatment in mental institutions across the country, particularly at The Belchertown State School.

We hope that this podcast can open your mind to the hardships people labeled as disabled have endured, and inspires you to act differently in the future. The truth is we could all use someone to stand up for us, a friend when times get tough, and someone who understands and accepts us for who we are. When you leave the house today carry the message of kindness and acceptance wherever you go, and don't miss another opportunity to stand up for someone or something you believe in.
