A new start after a long time away! After a surprising and busy end of the year in 2021 I'm back, settled in to regular life again and ready to go with some new starts and new episodes for Go With The Flow. Ready to get rid of my habit of doing too many things at once and focusing on what I really want to get done! I hope you enjoy my new ideas and new episodes...and learn some vocabulary and expressions along the way. ¡Empiezo de nuevo después de un largo tiempo de ausencia! Después de un sorprendente y ajetreado fin de año en 2021 estoy de vuelta, instalada en la vida cotidiana de nuevo y lista para empezar con algunos nuevos comienzos y nuevos episodios para Go With The Flow. ¡Lista para deshacerme de mi hábito de hacer demasiadas cosas a la vez y centrarme en lo que realmente quiero hacer! In this episode we´ll continue looking at how to express ourselves, asking and answering questions about "ganas". What are "ganas" in English? In Spanish it's a great expression that covers so many things! But in English there a various ways of using it. So, we are going to hear and practice some ways to use it to express desires, feelings, emotions and our energy to do something or see somebody and our enthusiasm and impatience, our ¨ganas", for something in the near future. Pero en inglés hay varias formas de utilizarla. In this episode we´ll be remembering traditional fiestas with nostalgia and affection, as we can't currently celebrate as we would like to. I'll also be talking about my first years traveling in Spain and my first impressions of the place and people. With a little comparison between fiestas in Spain and Australia. There are definitely more fiestas in Spain but we do have some festivals in Australia too.

In this episode we go Más Slow with the flow and look at how to use the verb Can't in different ways. A shorter, easier and slower version of Go With The Flow. We´ll look at how to say and use, "it can't be!" "I can't wait" and "I can't stand" Can you remember Rambo with his famous.."I can't feel my legs!" How well can you translate the expressions that you often use in Spanish?¿Qué bien puedes traducir las expresiones que usas a menudo en español?

Have you ever directly translated an expression into English? It can be hilarious sometimes! Some examples of direct translations from Spanish to English could be, «Flipping in colors», «From lost to the river» or «Go and fry some asparagus»! Of course, a typical English speaker is not going to understand a word you're saying! It just wouldn't make sense to them.

A very useful, fun and enriching way to progress in your English communication, or in any language, is to learn how and when to use some colloquial expressions or proverbs and use them. You can find out how to say some of your favorite Spanish expressions in English and also learn some popular expressions that native speakers use. It's a funny way to break the ice in meetings with mixed nationalities, it helps us expand our natural vocabulary and it helps us express ourselves in more detail. So Let's go! ¡A por ello!
