People Have No Idea

by Michele Christiansen

People Have No Idea is about mental, physical, and life challenges. The primary focus being on the genetic disease Fragile X, which affects me personally as well as my family. I will also be interviewing those who not only deal with Fragile X but other challenges as well. Challenges that are mental, physical and personal. I want those I speak with to tell me their stories. Stories that are educational, funny, sad and have a real human side. It’s important to shed light on these different issues so we can all better understand each other.

Why Her and Not Me?!

10m · Published 12 Mar 21:21

Hello again everyone and welcome to a quick and inspired episode of "People Have No Idea." The podcast that discusses mental, physical and life challenges.

On this episode I was inspired by another podcast I was listening to earlier this week and wanted to record a show based off the topic they had discussed. The topic of women feeling jealous or resentful towards other women who are able to get pregnant without the need for IVF or other fertility methods.

In this show I give a positive and inspirational talk. If you are going through IVF or other fertility methods I hope you find this show useful and it gives you something to think about.

1h 13m · Published 23 Feb 01:38

On this episode of People Have No Idea; I interview my cousin Shannon. She is a mother to three active boys! Two of which are twins! However, her twins were born premature at 30 weeks. This early arrival caused a myriad of health problems for these tiny infants. Forcing them to spend the first three months of their new lives in the NICU. Leading her one son Jake to develop Cerebral Palsy or CP.

In this interview Shannon tells her story from the beginning and leads you through her emotional, crazy, hard, strong but hopeful rollercoaster ride!

 Coming up we talk about:

-The day the twins were born.

-The first three months in the NICU.

-Jake’s CP diagnoses.

-Doctors, doctors and more doctors!

-Great children’s hospitals.

-How Jake is doing now and what the future looks like for him.

Michele and Zach Try to Make a Baby

38m · Published 19 Jan 02:34

In this episode of People Have No Idea I wanted to talk about a personal journey that I am currently on. A journey many women have taken, are in the process of taking or they are considering it. It’s a big step that leads you down a path, a path that is uncertain but with a major end goal in mind. I am talking about IVF. Which stands for In Vitro fertilization. I’m sure many of you out there have heard of IVF, have gone through it yourself or may know someone who has done it. Or like me are in the process of going through it. I wanted to take the time in this episode to discuss my story so far since mine is a little more unique then most stories. However, I do hope I can educate, inspire and help those who are going through IVF or are thinking about it due to their circumstances. I want others to know that you’re not alone and although it can feel like a long emotional road, the end result of having a baby and becoming a parent/parents is the ultimate goal. No matter how you get there.

Coming up I’ll discuss…

-What is IVF?

-My story.

-Starting another cycle.

-Currently on a cliffhanger!

-And Things I wish I knew before I started

Thank you and please enjoy this episode of People Have No Idea!
