Luke 1:26-38

The 10th plague, the death of the firstborn son, will be the final blow to Pharaoh and Egypt. In this night of judgment the Israelites must sacrifice a lamb and place the blood on their doors to protect themselves from the wrath of the LORD.

We take a look at the first 9 plagues of Exodus. Yahweh is displaying his greatness to Pharaoh and the Egyptians. He is also sending a message to future generations of Israelites to not become idol worshipers like the Egyptians.

God reassures Moses that success of the mission does not come from human performance but from His power.

The world is always discouraging believers in their faith and hope in God. How can we protect our faith in a world that is always discouraging it?

The LORD reveals his fatherhood and love for Israel. Through Moses we come to understand what kind of love the Father has for us (1 John 3:1).

God calls Moses to set the people free. Moses raises 5 objections. In God's answers to Moses we discover what God provides to accomplish his will.

The calling of Moses reveals the character of God.

Moses flees into the wilderness. It's in the wilderness that God begins to forge him into the man who will one day set the people free.

The early heroines of Exodus set the stage for the birth of Moses.
