Two Surprises for my Favorite Podcast Peeps (that's YOU!)

0s · Published 11 Aug 07:00

'm so excited for this week's episode, because I have TWO surprises in store for you!

Surprise #1: I'm sharing a sneak peek into a membership training, and this one is a GOOD one! Tune in to hear Jessica Guzikowski, small business coach and marketing guru, lead a training on Cultivating Relationships with Local Wedding Vendors. Jessica shares practical, applicable steps you can implement in your business this week to cultivate those necessary relationships.

Online and social media relationships are so wonderful, but as local, service-based business owners, our reputation and clientele thrive when we connect with locals.

I've edited the beginning and end of the training for sake of time, so you won't hear the Q&A session after her training. If you have further questions, you can connect with Jessica at makersgonnamakemoney.com or on Instagram @Jessica.guzikowski

Surprise #2: After receiving some GREAT feedback from my previous episode, Tapping into our 4 Phases to make Business Magic, I've created a free download that organizes our bridal sewing tasks into the optimal week they would fit in. You can receive your free copy by clicking this link

In my intro, I refer to two great Instagram accounts to refer to as examples of Before and Afters done right: @thegildedthimble , and @hemmingandfitz

Don't forget about my weekly g i v e a w a y ! To enter, share this podcast on Instagram, don't forget to tag me, @nadine.bozeman! OR, you can leave a review on your favorite podcast platform. Both are easy ways for you to enter our podcast merchandise weekly giveaway!

Thank you so much for tuning in and letting me be a part of your day.

Discovering Systems that Work for You, with Adrienne Gonzales

0s · Published 02 Aug 07:00

Do you ever feel like you're stuck in a rut that doesn't work for you? Using the same routines and habits that aren't serving you? Don't worry, you're not alone!

In this episode, I chat with fellow seamstress extraordinaire, Adrienne Gonzales. Adrienne serves brides in the Phoenix area, working with a local bridal shop, and also with independent clients. She is so engaging and encouraging, our time together flew by! I loved hearing that we both share similar struggles...because at the end of the day, we all just want to feel NORMAL with our frustrations and daily aspirations.

Here are some key takeaways:

-Be flexible with yourself. Change is normal and healthy in a business. If something is not working FOR you, change it up!

-Listen to your gut. Tuning in to our amazing intuition can save us from future heartache and stress

-Listen to your body. Take snack breaks, know when to say no, and give yourself the gift of listening to your unique alarm sounds

Tapping into our Four Phases to make Business Magic

0s · Published 19 Jul 07:00

Today I'm chatting about the 4 phases of our monthly cycles, and how we can use their magic in our businesses. This is one of my favorite subjects- it could be seen as taboo, but I think we're past that point around here! I hope you find this topic as fascinating as I do.

This episode is just a brief overview of a limitless subject. If you'd like to learn more about our 4 monthly phases, consider reading Kate Northrup's book, Do Less. As business owners, we have the unique opportunity to create schedules and routines that work best for ourselves and our families. Even small changes, if necessary, can make a big difference in our work flow and well being. I love hearing about your own schedule tips and tricks that work for you! That's the beauty of our individual work ways.

In this episode I also mention the theme of rest and recuperation seen in nature. One of my favorite books on the subject of rest reflected in nature is Wintering, by Katherine May.

Congratulations to our GIVEAWAY winner this week, Naomi Fata! Naomi is a seamstress and sewing coach, and sewing blogger. Check out her Instagram profiles and say hello! @naomifata and @lovestitchesbynaomi To enter our weekly giveaway, share this podcast on your own Instagram stories. Don't forget to tag me in it so I can see it!

Thank you for tuning in! Have a wonderful week! Xo

Let's start with GIVEAWAYS! 🥳 I'm so pumped for new Secrets of a Bridal Seamstress merch that's available starting 7/12! To celebrate, I'll be giving away one free gift each week. Membership update- So thrilled for this month’s trainings! Here's what you can expect as a member of Secrets of a Bridal Seamstress online membership: -We’ll kick things off with a self-evaluation. I know, we’re in the thick of busy season, so who has time for a self eval?🤪

But! ‘In the moment’ is actually the best time to take inventory of our physical and emotional health, and revisit our business goals:

➡️ Is this all working the way I want it to?

➡️ Do I have full control of my business, or is the business controlling me? The self-eval training is a prerecorded guide for you to use in your own down time.

Then! Stephanie Booth is leading a live training on Tuesday, 7/26 at 3:00pm PST. Stephanie has had such an incredible impact on my life and my own business, I cannot wait for you to meet her!

As a mindset coach, she’ll be covering the following important topics:

• 3 types of boundaries

• How to find your own boundaries

• Learning your body's boundary signals

And finally, I share an update on my recent work schedule changes, and how it's working for me. I'd love to hear how you create your own personal work schedule, and how it serves you best.

Hope you have a wonderful week! Take care of yourself and keep drinking your water and getting the rest your pretty little self needs! Xo

Finding Balance as a Boss Mom, with Jessica Anselmi

0s · Published 28 Jun 07:00

When launching a bridal sewing business, how do we find the perfect balance between family and work? In this episode, fellow seamstress Jessica Anselmi shares the real life struggles and victories she’s had since starting her own business in 2020.

Jessica is as relatable as you get, and I know you’ll be nodding along with her stories and personal testimony! Within the alterations industry, especially one that revolves around seasonal weddings, it can be tough to find a balance. When do we say ‘no’, or when can we justify the busy schedule with the added income? Each of us needs to find that sweet spot, and it’s okay if it takes a few years to get there. If you’re in the thick of it now, know that you’re not alone, and that smoother days are up ahead!

Adding Day-Of Dressing Services to Your Portfolio, with Francesca DiSpirito

0s · Published 21 Jun 07:00

Booking day-of dressing services is becoming a more mainstream luxury for brides. For bridal seamstresses, this can be a fun way to see the dress all the way through its course, and serve your favorite brides in a really special way! Your day-of dressing packages can include whatever services you feel comfortable offering: steaming, bustling, on-the scene stain removal, etc...and you can of course set a limit on how many brides you serve per wedding season.

Are you intrigued yet? Tune in to hear the steps Francesca took to build her own styling business, and how you can add this service to your own bridal sewing business!

0s · Published 07 Jun 07:00

This title says it all! After you hear Audrey’s inspirational story, you’ll be encouraged to start your own sewing journey, and take the risk to bet on yourself!

Audrey started her New England sewing business at the impressive age of 19, right out of high school. While her peers were applying to colleges, she was planning her career path and took it one step further: she went full speed ahead and opened a professional space. The results are so impressive, and she can only keep growing.

If you’re feeling limited, discouraged, maybe a little unsure about the growth that can come with opening your own business, listen to this episode and take a note from Audrey herself! Her bravery is contagious.

I loved hearing her story, her excitement and zeal for Rose Fine Alterations, and the pride she has in her accomplishments. I know you will too! To follow Audrey’s journey on Instagram, search for @rosefinealterations

In this episode, I offer 10 easy, actionable steps that can jumpstart your momentum. Sometimes we just need that first move to get the ball rolling!

Remember that every actionable step you take in your business, no matter how small, will work in your favor and move you closer to the goal.

How to Set Goals Like a BOSS

0s · Published 30 Mar 07:00

Grab a notebook, a cozy beverage, and settle in- because this week's episode requires a little daydreaming!

When is the last time you stepped back to set some goals for your business?

What about goals for your personal growth?

In this episode, I'm giving you permission to dream BIG! Let's put on paper all the goals you have for your bridal sewing business.

I often hear from women within our industry, saying that it's difficult to set goals from a 'business mindset' (like a BOSS!) It's easier for them to float through wedding seasons, barely getting by, and then just feel grateful that they survived and came out the other end with some extra cash in-hand!

Does this sound like you?

If you can relate, then I encourage you to start setting intentional goals for yourself. They don't even all need to be business related ;)

The next step: break the goals down into actionable steps- the smaller the better!

I also share a few tips that have kept me motivated along the way.

What goals are YOU working towards? I'd love to hear about them! Shoot me a DM on Instagram, or email me through the podcast website.
